View Full Version : Alin's Tranquil Serenade is broken?
<div>With LU 20 and the expansion, they finally fixed the wording on this spell to say "IF NOT FIGHTER" and slightly nerf the deaggro percentage. It could be my imagination but when I use this spell while grinding out experience I noticed that I got aggro more often with it on then with it off. Prior to expansion, I could pretty much go all out and never get aggro. I am just curious what other troubadors' experiences are with this spell. </div><div> </div><div>If this spell is now broken, it would be a huge nerf to our class and would pretty much make us useless in terms of raiding since we do not come close when it comes to dps compared with other dps classes and we are in dps groups to increase dps mainly with our ability to control aggro. I believe they only reduced its effectiveness by around 3-4% which is practilcly nothing and I dont realy know why they did that because it never realy "made the difference", if your group mates are good, they will know how to not get aggro and still be effective dps.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Heya Bellator,</p><p>My Tranqui serenade is at master I (40%), and yes i am getting aggro more. This problem might not totally be, however, due to our aggro debuff. I have friends (tanks - bruisers, guardians, paladins) who have spoken about having more aggro problems since LU 20 with or without me in the group. Seems that taunts are getting resisted, damage procs and taunt procs aren't proc'ing as much (hence less hate generated) and dps classes just plain seem to be getting more hate than usual.</p><p>What we could do to test it is really due to our spell being broken would be to fight with and without the buff on to see if it makes a visible difference. I'm not sure how much less effective it is in terms of gameplay due to the lower in aggro reduction.</p><p>I agree with your statement that "if you group mates are good, they will know how not to get aggro and still be effective dps". However, the whole point of the Tranquil Serenade, imho, would be to allow great players to push their dps abit more (hence be more effective) without getting aggro. With the previous 49% decrease, they could techincally burn almost twice the spells or CAs whilst still gaining the same amount of aggro.</p><p>Now 40% is still quite a significant amount of aggro reduced. However, aggro generation by dps and taunt resists seemed to have gone up abit since the patch (either that or our aggro song is broken, pretty equal possibility of both happening). So players will have to find new dps limits to ensure that they're effective in groups.</p>

<div></div>The song may be broken. Last night in the Halls of El'Alad I was grouped with a coercer and between he and I we had HUGE aggro on the MT and less for the casters/dps. Mobs were still sticking to our inquisitor like white on rice. A 9% shift shouldn't be that effective. ALSO, the patch notes said that the song would max out at 41% reduction - master is 40%. We get our upgrade at 66, (40% at adept 1 fyi), so I fail to see why it isn't 41%. Yes it's only a percentage point, but aggro is a major issue lately...

yeah. it seems that this song is broken. I turn it on and everyone gets aggro from the tank. I turn it off and tank aggro control is better.very weird.<div></div>

It would seem to be broken, as the groups I've been with have generally had less of an agro problem without it than with.It's incredibly difficult (read: impossible) to prove this, however, as no parse can show it. I fear that it won't even be looked into at all, and will remain broken for quite some time.<div></div>
Agreed here.I was kind of disapointed today a guildy looted our T7 Serenda master I. The upgrade from t6 master 1 to t7 master one is pathentic. Honestly unless you have a lot of plat to through around on worthless things, i wouldnt even bother upgrading this abilits.T6 Serenade Master I (lvl 52):When target takes damage hate is reduced by 99Reduces hate gain by 40%, if not fighterT7 Serenade Master I (lvl 66):When target takes damage hate is reduced by 145Reduces hate gain by 40%, if not fighterThe upgraded version is pathetic.<div></div>
