<div></div><div>So I was all excited to get my Troubadour to lvl 20 so I could finally get some decent armor.  Low and behold, my displayed avoidance is .4% (Less then 1%) and mitigation is 29.9% vs. lvl 20 mob.  Is this right?  Looking over my combat log for a fight against a green con mob... I was taking quite a bit of damage and they rarely missed.</div><div> </div><div>I actually had better stats with lower mitigation purchased and quested chainmail.</div><p>Message Edited by Cybst0rm on <span class="date_text">02-15-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:06 AM</span></p>

<div></div><p>Avoidance is not affected by armor......it is based off your Defense and Parry skills.  Are they both maxed?  If not agro a bunch of low grays and let them beat on you until you max out.</p><p>The Mit numbers sound about right for handcrafted non-rare armor.</p>

<div></div>OK, that might be it.  I double box with a Guardian so my Troub rarely ever gets hit.

<div></div>Yup that will do it.  It seems to be on an accelerated curve as well.  Being 20 points behind in both Defense and Parry can put you at almost 0% avoidance to an even con MOB.

<div>actually avoidance is affect by what kind of armor you wear.  leather will have higher avoidance than chain etc</div>

<div>Nope.....that is Mitigation......not Avoidance.</div>

It is avoidance as well.  When you were chain or plate you reduce your avoidance while increasing mitigation.  It's a classic debate on these boards as to which set to use <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div>Hmm.....I'll have to test that.  I'll remove my non-AGI mod armor and see if my Avoidance changes.

<div></div>Yup yer right.  It's based of the class of armor: Heavy, Medium, Light, Very Light.  However going from T2 chain to T3 chain will make no difference to Avoidance.

<div></div>OK, I started working on my Troubs avoidance last night.  You guys are right, those defense skills do a lot.  I'm currently at 2% (Woohoo!  lol) and still have about 20 points to go in each one.  What can I expect to see in avoidance in crafted (non-legendary) chain as a range?  20-30% avoidance?

<div></div><div></div><p>As I recall it will be around 25% or so....but that is from memory.</p><p>What I used to do was unequip my weapons and agro 10 to 15 low gray MOB's and then go eat lunch.  They cannot damage you beyond your normal heal rate and you will get skill increases. Unequip your weapons or you will riposte them to death.</p><p>Message Edited by Kulaf on <span class="date_text">02-17-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:23 AM</span></p>

<div></div>How do you know what your Defense is?  I couldn't find it on the Persona window.
