<div></div><div> I love my Bard I would'nt want any other main, for sure. What I was gonna say is this, some folks on here are talking about soloing ^^ heroics, green and blue, and orange solo's no problem. My [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]!!!!!! This is not possible, if it is give me some screen shots and tell me how the hell your doing it!!! That just aint are thing. I have tore our stats apart with parsers, and it just isnt possible. I'm using all legendary equip, and I have my adept 3's sprinkled in there, but that is just bullpoop!! Why do we lie to each other, we all know that Troubs cant do this stuff, you know how we know, because we are troubs!!!. I am a hair from lvl 50 so I've spent an hour or two as a troubador now LOL!!! Please lets keep it real on here guys!! The noobs, are getting some really false information. Also let's face itwe are the <font size="6">HARDEST CLASS TO LEARN, and THE BEST STRATEGISTS IN THE GAME!!!</font></div><div> </div><div>                                     -Shasta-</div><p>Message Edited by DankShasta on <span class="date_text">02-11-2006</span><span class="time_text">07:19 AM</span></p>

It can be done, I can solo a same lvl heroic named with my troub. It takes a long [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] time to hit mezz etc.<div></div>

As a troub you can kill yellow +++ it just takes a real long time.  There is no real trick just mezz it and regen beyond that you should know you spells.<div></div>

<div>Mez, debuff, stifle, do as much dps as fast as possible and remez when stifle wears off.  Repeat.</div>

It is very do-able to solo a lvl 65^^^ heroic named as a troubador. Let's use keeper of silence in poets palace for example. Buffs I run are, self buff, hp song, aria and raxxyls. Start out by mezing keeper, and charming an add, then kill the other add, re-mez keeper, and break your charm, kill that add. Now, it's just you and keeper. Then just snare, mez, stifle\nuke, re-mez, rinse and repeat til he's dead. Plenty of room to move around, and no adds <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I don't know about yellow ^^'s, but yellow heriocs are definately possible.  Once you hit 50.  I can't imagine taking a solo white ^ prior to 50, but once you get that mez it becomes possible.  Especially when you open with a successful hit with a Master 1 charm, followed with a mez and you're left with one out of four in an encounter attacking you.  I would imagine, though I haven't tried it, that using (mez/stifle/stun)* it's possible to take down some ^ or ^^, or even a named ^^^, but MAN would that take a long time.  I'd feel safer mezzing and stifling, which causes aria's to proc without breaking the mez unless you get the knockdown (which lets you recast mez) (yes I bugged it, but how can I stop using an attack?).  Now that's a 30-60 minute fight against a blue named, so it's really only something to be done if you really want what they drop. So, post-50 we're a soloable class, pre-50 we are not that I have found.<div></div>

<div></div><div>Legendary armor can be some weak stuff, i'm not too sure what makes an item legendary or not, make sure you get a real high mit that gives the best buffs on them you should try to get the stuff that adds bonuses like healing spells on them , and attacking spells on them, try invincibles in S. Queynos or Phila in greystone.</div><div> </div><div> - last night I saw a troub make me smile.</div><div>I was grouped with this real  A-hole guy who thought his lvl 28 guardian was the bomb.</div><div>when a troub who was lvl 25 came along.</div><div>"Seithyn" is his name (i just looked him up , hes lvl 26 now, but last night a 25 )</div><div>Anyhow this guardian named zarrock started making fun of his guilds name , they are the poets of something ,</div><div>can't remember all that.  the guard keeps trying to duel him , he kept rejecting it. So I'm standing there and I send a tell to this troub to kick his [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. so the next invite he took. this troub would go inv run around and stab the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] out of this guy.</div><div>It was so freakin funny. the troub beat him and had about half his health left. I had to get off my horse and dance.</div><div> it was such a funny thing to watch. They actually did it twice, the first time the guardian ran away , then claimed it was a computer glitch. The second time he was getting his butt kicked he claimed a crab attacked him at the same time.No one recalled seeing a crab. </div><div> </div><div>Now I don't know if this makes a difference or not, I did see a forum talking about races and how it makes no differnce really .</div><div>I beg to differ, on my first race up date , I chose strenght for harder hitting. my second one , I chose precision of the warrior or what ever they are calling it . when I use the precision skill my hits seem almost twice as hard , my bow strikes with lightingbolts from the sky and my hits from my sais are for 150+ each . im not sure how you guys go about your attacks. I start with deafening missles pop a guy from afar as he runs towards me I hit him with my longer casting time spells which hits him before he gets to me. then I just do herioc hits over and over using all the spells to lower my opponets skills and strenghts as possible. now my armor heals me every 4 secs + 36 pts and with my health rejuv buff on I can just about rebuild my health several ways when fighting. 1 way is to hit the guy with stun , this does a few things for me , it allows me (6 secs) more time to heal on the attack , and it allows me to go behind the guy and use my stronger attackss from the side. the other trick I have used is to run in circles back wards using my bow, once healed to green I start attacking with my sais again. I took down that talon griffon in steppes this way, it  took a while but I got it done.(my heart was beating fast on that one, exspecially once I saw it working.) I use all my ranged spells as they come up, the hits that I take heal pretty much as I take them. Now a group of ^^ will cream me.And  I'm not suggesting I have defeated every one of these encounters, in fact if you read my post you can see that I cliam that I win some and lose some, but I definately win a share of them.</div><div> </div><div>Last night was the first time I have ever used the charm spell. can you attack the guy you charmed(while the the charmed opponet is charmed , I could not attack him) or do you just to sit and wait til he comes out of it?</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><p>Message Edited by eleven22 on <span class="date_text">02-09-2006</span><span class="time_text">08:50 AM</span></p>

<div></div>Also one more question when you cancel a buff , how long does it take to clear your concentration slots?

Bassist
02-09-2006, 09:44 PM
To answer both your questions:- The concentration slot is open immediately if you cancel the buff in the maintained spells window.- I wait for my health/power to be where I want it before I cancel, but I usually cancel.  Sometimes it break prior to when I'm ready, but I have mez for that.<div></div>

<div>Hmm , mine never opens right up, it goes off my buff bar for my char under his name , but not on the right.</div><div>I can rebuff the exact on e I cancel , but only that one. After a while I get the slot to open up again.</div><div>so maybe I got some flaw on program. gotta check that out.</div>

Thank you Shasta, you are so correct - Lets add a little reality to the prospect of making a Troubador and expecting to solo any mob of any actual prospective value.  It isnt gonna happen.  I am a level 60 Troubador.  I have 19 Masters almost if not all are level 50+ unless they are a still used group buff or mob debuff. ( i.e. Level 35 Zanders Choral Rebuff) and at a minimum every other possible song that is not a lower version is Adept 3. Now I cant claim to have knowledge of Charm song, but I know with Troub mitigation and avoidance I am not so sure i want a mob beating on me before my charmed pet comes to my defense.  As for using Mezz / Stifle / Ranged DPS rinse and repeat for 30+ minutes in hopes of killing anything that might drop a reward that would be worth it.  I dont see it happening. We dont ranged DPS like a Ranger and how often are you going to have room to max range and not have to worry about adds? I am a Group / Raid animal  and my buffs and debuffs are highly sought after.  Casters like the added DD proc my Aria can add, the Int Buff and added DD Precision of the Maestro can offer.  Melee like the haste, regens and defense buffs that are available. No way I would think to go solo in RE, FG, SE or CT as many of my guildmates of done ( Zerks, Bruiiser, Monks, Illus just to name a few) in hopes of landing a Master off a named.  It isnt going to happen.  I cant even solo a Heroic 54^^ Prowler in LT unless I work the mezz / debuff / Ranged DPS repeat, and then that can take 25-30 minutes, and considering they are yard trash.. not worth my time for the risk/reward ratio it just isnt worth it. If you doubt my gear.  I was the first Bard on Faydark ( Now Befallen ) to have the Bangle of Melodic Speed from Shimmering Citadel instance. Cheers,Lazician Ona'LeashTroubador PetClan of Shadowsif you want a solo Melee class... make a Zerk, Brigand, Monk, BruiserIf you want a solo Caster Class... make a Illus or WizardI am sure there are equal or better solo classes out there  I just quickly named a few and in no particular order<div></div>

I totally agree with the risk vs. reward on taking out the heroic encounters.  That's why I don't do heroics, but when I'm forced to I can take them out and it's a hell of a lot of fun when it's more than one.  But, I play this game for fun, as my sig shows (server-wide first bard, still only level 50).  So, if you want to be uber outside of groups then this is by no means your class.  I've tried to state that above, but also point out that we can solo if you're doing it for fun <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Of course in EQ1 the bard had the PBAoE kiting (or even to a lesser degree charm kiting) for fun with a huge reward for the large risk.  Would it be nice to have both?  Sure.  But I have fun anyway <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I watched a level 59 troub solo a level 60 ^^ herioc in PoF the other day. She was definitely mezzing him periodically. Took her a long time, but she wore him down. She was tricked out in a lot of +INT gear -- including a rather nice cloth robe.I don't have the patience for that sort of thing, and since my husband plays a conjuror and can basically sleepwalk through encounters that would roll right over me without a second glance, I've no need... but it <i>can</i> be done. Toe-to-toe is not the ticket, though, apparently.(Also I'm not a musician but I took a music theory class in college... does that count?) <span>:smileyhappy:</span><div></div>

<div></div>Melee-mezzing is nothing new.  Did it in EQ1 as a Bard since Velious.  But again we don't get a mez until level 50......and this is about setting levels of expectation for new Troubs.
