<div>What do most troubs do?</div><div> </div><div>and is there a type of weapon that's better suited to troubador combat abilities (sword, axe, mace, etc)?</div>

DW all the way for me, tryed the 1H+shield but hated it, i seemed to die faster and not do as much damage<div></div>

DW is what you find troubs using when they want to rely on some autoattack damage output.  For some soloing situations, a 1-hander and shield can get your int stats higher and might be more useful, as when soloing most of our damage comes from spells, not autoattack melee.Troubs get access to good weapons of the slashing and piercing variety predominantly.  And some epic mobs are immune to one or the other.  So you should ultimately have 2 dw slashers and 2 dw piercers.  You should also have a good bow.<div></div>

<span>Maybe so but that doesnt help the OP very much.  How about describing the situations in which you use each setup?<blockquote><hr>Warondom wrote:The good troubs use both. =)<div></div><hr></blockquote></span><div></div>

<div></div>Been using DW for the most part.  Just now getting into using a 1H and shield.  Anticipate using the 1H/shield combo mostly when I'm raiding and facing AE.

<div>I use the shield in the following situations:</div><div> </div><div>*  When I'm travelling, especially if I anticipate taking aggro/training</div><div> </div><div>*  When I solo tough stuff or if I'm tanking (ie. duo with a healer)</div><div> </div><div>*  During raids, I almost always use the shield since I mostly range fight.  If the extra DPS is needed and I know the MOB doesn't AE, I may go to DW and melee.  In general, tho, it is MUCH more important for me to stay alive with my buffs and debuffs than risk getting killed in an AE.</div><div> </div><div>*  In unfamiliar places or tight spaces like a dungeon where I might get unexpected aggro, I will start with the shield until I get comfortable with the area.</div><div> </div><div>I use the DW setup in the following situations:</div><div> </div><div>*  When I am grouped in a conventional 3-6 person group.</div><div> </div><div>*  If I'm farming an area killing greens or blues that can barely hit me, I like the extra damage output from the DW.</div>

<div>I use Defrauder's Dagger and Round Shield of the Archon on my level 44 Troubador and kick the living crap out of any solo mobs there are in SS. The 48^ solos (ghouls especially) are a long fight however and can be dangerous if I get an add. I also use mitigation potions religously, so the shield and the potion together add 560 mitigation. 12% ancient glyph of poison on the dagger is very very nice to have. It procs quite often in melee as well as off the bow shots.</div><div> </div><div>I'm loving the sword and board set up so much that I haven't even considered going DW.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>
