<div>Will increasing my int cause Aria to do more damage when proc'ed by another group member or is it based on the int of the person who proc'ed it?</div>

<div></div>It's your spell... it's based on your intelligence.  So, get it up there!  :smileyhappy:

<div></div><div></div><p>I think Sean did answer the question. The damage of the proc is determined by the buff caster's intelligence, not the buff receiver's. The troubador's intelligence determines the damage.</p><p>Message Edited by Asheben on <span class="date_text">01-18-2006</span><span class="time_text">03:52 PM</span></p>

<div></div><div>Here's another wrinkle, until they're forced to fix it because I've mentioned it publicly...</div><div> </div><div>The damage dealt by the proc is based on your int <strong>when you cast the buff in the first place</strong>.  So if you run Daelis, load up your int gear to hit the cap, and cast Aria, you can subsequently ditch either int gear or Daelis and retain fully maxed Aria damage until you zone, die or recast Aria at a different intelligence level.</div><div> </div><div>I know, I know, all the troubs who've been quietly taking advantage of this are gonna beat me up by the monkey bars, but what the heck, someone had to say it sooner or later and I've received no response from /bugging it.  <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Edit - this also means that if you can get within 70-ish int of the cap, you can cast Aria while under Precision's influence (level permitting) and while you'll obviously lose proccing time, you'll get a better Aria effect for the duration.</div><p>Message Edited by Jehannum on <span class="date_text">01-19-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:11 PM</span></p>

This isn't entirely true. Just because it's your buff, doesn't mean your INT decides the damage. In reality, it is the person who is "casting" it, who determines how much damage it does. That being, when you cast it, it shows up as doing so much damage, but in reality it checks everytime it casts to determine damage output. Dynamism, the Illusionist equivalent buff, works this way. Upping your INT will only help your damage from aria's. Try this out one time. Cap your INT, cast aria's. Drop all your gear, examine Aria, you'll see it still says the original damage with your capped INT. However, now go and cast on a mob, and don't use any mental debuffs on it. And you will notice that the damage from dissonant note is much lower than it showed when you examined it.
