<div>To be honest, it probably doesn't matter a whole lot.  A dirge will increase both friends' melee capacity, while a troubadour will increase both friends' magic damage capability.  It might be an idea to go troub just for the resistance songs since they'll be able to handle noxious attacks fairly handily already, but by the same token there's a synergy to be gained with the dirge's noxious debuffs in that regard as well.  You won't have a mezzer for situations gone awry, but you'll have several means of fearing mobs with a dirge in the trio.  The dirge's in-combat rez may be useful in some situations too.</div><div> </div><div>I guess the bottom line is that either bard class will do great things for almost any balanced trio (as you're proposing) and it's really up to you as far as which subclass you prefer.  Go dirge for enhanced damage (synergistic debuffs and slightly higher melee dps) or troubadour for cockroach-like survivability and moderate damage increase.  I should also mention that charms are a lot less risky with a defiler's wards on you (the SK can ward himself to some extent) so depending on how you play it, the troubadour can potentially also do some fairly serious overall dps work.  The world is our oyster.  (cue laugh and music)</div>

<div></div><div>Either bard class would be a good choice as SKs have both melee and spell casting abilities.  A troubador would help the limited offense of defilers with the aria line of procs and eventually get a little more CC ability than the Dirge. </div>

Ive never found resistance songs relevant outside of the epic raid context.  I really don't think that resistances will be significant to the abilities of a trio.  If others disagree, please chime in.I'm tempted to recommend dirge, as I think that they bring slightly more offense along with what the trio needs most out of a bard, which is power regen and some basic stat buffs.<div></div>
