The spell that troubador’s get at level 52 is one of the three legacy spells that our class gets. This spell is the troubador’s version of the dirge ability Percussion of Stone. The abilities have the ability to absorb physical dmg (dirge) or reflect spell dmg (troubador).

The Troubador’s version of this spell is: (this is not the actually description but the description is a bit cryptic so this is what it actually does. ( Master I) - 12% chance to Cast Requiem of Reflection on caster when spell damage is received. ---> Requiem of Reflection. 30 second duration - 73% to reflect spell damage received - Up to one spell reflected. - Does not reflect AE spell damage. - Does not reflect breath attacks. - Does not reflect mob special abilities.

This sounds all fine and dandy until you consider how the spell actually works in a real battle. I have been using this spell on and off for the past month to test how it actually works in several different encounter types. Below is what I found.

- Requiem of Reflection proc fired a good number of times per fight, depending of encounter mobs. BUT 80% of the time the proc timed out (30 seconds) before another spell damage was either receive or hit the 73% chance to reflect. Normally the proc was fired due to ae spells from the mob.

- When Requiem of Reflection did reflect a spell 90% of the time that spell was a tic off of a dot. Totally between 100 – 300 damage being reflected, and 30% of the time the reflected spell was resisted by the mob that it was being reflected to.

- While the Requiem of Reflection proc is on a person there is still the 12% chance to reapply the proc spell to the target instead of reflecting the spell back to the mob. Basically I have see reflection refresh it self on a person multiple times in a row instead of reflecting any damage.

- When it is considered how often requiem of reflection’s proc times out in a fight, the limitation on what abilities cast by a mob, and the time most mob delay between casts the final % is closer to 2% – 3% chance to reflect any spell damage back to a mob.

This spell ability drastically needs to be reviewed and revamped in some way. It is a great idea for the spell but in all actuality it really does not work in game.

A few suggestions that could possibly make this spell useful. One thing that applies to all of these suggestions the spell should not be able to refresh its proc until the duration of the proc has expired. Also the duration of the proc should be increase to 45 seconds

- 12% chance to proc. -> 100% chance to absorb next spell damage. Can absorb all spell damage (ae, special, breath attacks).

- 12% chance to proc -> 100% chance to reflect the next spell doing up to X damage. X = (y * int factor). Can reflect all spell damage (ae, special, breath attacks). Int factor should be based off of the int of the troubador not the person I cast on (Stupid tanks are not going to reflect much more than 5 points :-p).
