Troubs are one of the worst classes when it comes to soloing mobs once you get to the higher lvls.  Lower lvls they solo fine.  Once you hit 50 and get mez it gets easier, but is still rough unless you are decked out in the finest gear.

The worst solo class, however, is Templar. I have both and the Troub solos infinitely better than the Templar. <div></div>

<P>It's not about the ability to solo but the effectiveness of it.</P> <P>Yes, you can solo, but it's not worth.  I dare to say that when you hit 50 and get Lullaby (our mezz spell) you can solo about everything, providing you have enough time to spare.  I think you can solo a yellow con ^^^ just mezing, recovering and mezzing again, but it would take you so long that it's not worth the effort.  Besides that, the troub class shines while grouping.  I played a necro long time ago and had enough soloing for my whole life <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Now i realize that the best playing experience (no only in terms of exp gaining, but also in having a good time, risk, and achievements) is when you group whith a few people who knows it's classes and know how to play them.</P> <DIV>I have nothing against people who like to solo, i realize that a lot of people dont have enough time to form a group and stay online for a while, i realize than some people just prefer soloing for different reasons, but imho the bard is a support class oriented to grouping, no to solo. </DIV>

Heh, the ability to solo heroic 62^^^ named isnt crappy soloing, no matter how long it takes. Now stop talking about it so we dont get nerfed <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<DIV>Even if that heoic gave a master chest, considering the time i would take, you would probably earn more money killing lvl 1 rats and selling their parts <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>At level 60 I can solo triple up's just fine. All you need is a little bit of patience and some creativity. If anyone tells you different, they just suck.</DIV>

This makes me, as an EQ2 newb ask: what con is considered normal for people to solo?Right now, my bard is only level 11, and I dont really get the arrows -- I mean I get the idea, but I dont have enough experience to note the xp diff between the various arrows, I am going on color con.So to clarify, what con would a medium-to-good class at soloing be xping on that a troubadour could not and why?<div></div>

<div></div><div></div>One thing to note is that it's not just colour, there are several ranks as well the unnamed rank, which is intended for solo players the heroic rank, which is intended for groups the epic rank which is intended for raids (there are subranks of the epic rank as well, but it matters not for this topic) I think most are able to solo the lowest greencons if they are heroic, but it does depend on the specific monster as well, casters are usually much worse when it comes to heroic. As for solo, I think most should aim to be able to kill yellowcons, but should expect a challange. Being well equipped allows you to take on even harder things, of course, and some classes are better at taking harder stuff than others. Speed tends to be much better than challenge, though, taking down the hardest you can is usually not good for experience, due to the time it takes. *added* To answer your specific question... in my opinion, troubadours don't actually have trouble taking on the same con monsters as any other class, we just get very slow at killing once the monsters start to get harder. We seem to be fine as long as we stick to easier monsters though. We are definately a group support class though, and do perform better in such conditions, but it's not too bad.<p>Message Edited by Baelas on <span class="date_text">12-17-2005</span> <span class="time_text">03:26 AM</span></p><p>Message Edited by Baelas on <span class=date_text>12-17-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:26 AM</span>

If it doesn't break. It's a risk to use, but when you do, you'll double the speed at which you take down mobs. Just make sure to upgrade it to as high as possible.

I've never had any problems soloing as a troubador. I'm currently a lvl 60 troub, all adept 3s\masters and almost full fabeled...and I can solo lvl 65^^^ heroic without any problems. Heres what I do <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, I slap on my 1h sword and shield, I used Scaled Schmitar and Round Shield of insight, I use my self buff, dove song, hp song, pwr song and ballactic avoidance. Just mez the mob, snare\debuff it, back up a little shoot it with pilfer essance, comple my HO with shrill, mez it again, repeat til its dead. If it hits you, just sit there and keep it mezd while your hp song heals you up. So....in my eyes troubadors are one of the *best* solo classes. I can solo many of the DoF instances, including scornfeather and tables. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

Once you hit T6 its not too bad at all really.  I was <50 before the expaining and too much has changed since thing to comment on how soloing is below 50. <div></div>

the grouped ones arnt too bad, mez one charm the other and attack the third. I havent been able to do the named two snakes and harpy matrons yet though :-/  so not sure how bad they are. <div></div>

Takes me maybe, 30-40 minutes max, I just clear around the zone in a bit, then invis to the named, mez it, invis to the zone in, break mez, mez it again close to me and then go at it. I only have a problem if they get there stun or dots off. <div></div>
