<DIV>If we're going to be Mage buffers, make us full on mage buffers, not all hybrid like we currently are. All of the Dirges' lines of spells are melee centric. Just please, do the same with us.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>While you are at it...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>change Raxxyl's Brash Descant to an Int/Wis buff for Troubadors. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Like I said, Dirges are pure melee buffers while we are a quagmire of hybridity. Fix this please.</DIV>

Its not a good idea because it will give the troubador class a declaired edge over a lot of classes. This would make spellcasting and recharge rates much less than they are. Tanks could taunt more often and healers could heal more often, melee will be able to use attacks more frequently and casters cast quicker. The melee haste to help balance out and make us troubs able to do something for all classes and not just mages. Remember, the bard class is one of the most adaptable in skill and ability. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I see where you were going on this bud and I would agree on the idea but not implementing it. The only way to raise the challenge to an ability like that is raise the hp of mobs, so why not save the coding and leave it all the same. :smileytongue:</DIV>

<DIV>It would be simple to make this only apply to nukes and DoTs, so your argument there is moot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can increase the damage rate of all melee quite easily. Its ridiculous that you can't increase the damage rate of casters except with a few random procs.</DIV>

Disagree. Would ghetto-ise us far to badly - to be efective we woudl require a very mage heavy group and be rather useless in a balanced group. <div></div>

Plus it would be totally contrary to SOE's practice of spreading out abilities across subclasses. The idea is that no one subclass should have a monopoly on anything, to avoid the 'this is the only way to put together such-and-such a group' mentality. But most of all it would suck to be such a troubador. We currently can buff a balanced group of widely different composition. It should stay that way of course.</span><div></div>

<DIV>Say what you will, the fact is, we're a hybrid buffer and Dirges are great for Melee. That puts us at a disadvantage any way you look at it.</DIV>

Reread what the bard classes do... <DIV>Each of the subclasses will surely have the upperhand over the other the way a fury and warden or berserker and guardian will govern specific advantages over one another. Thing is troub and dirge are able to perform well in balanced groups but give a bigger bonus to a weighted group of mages or melees respectively. </DIV> <DIV>For the most part Kraks_Aforty you are right in that dirges are better in a melee weighted group and troubadors are far greater in a magically weighted group. Your last post fails to bring any relevance to this topic, in that you state what we all know. By the look of it you want the old troubador back and most of us do. The real problem lies in the players ability to adapt to the change. If you are jealous of the dirge then rerole your toon into a dirge bud.</DIV> <DIV>Most troubadors that I knew have rerolled into Dirges because they like melee buffing better, but to those of us that adjusted and realized our new place of usefulness, it really isn't all that bad. While there are many things that SOE can do to even out the *way* and how *well* we affect our classes we buff better, as far as damage output, which is what most of the threads are about.</DIV>
