Hey fellow Troubador's,

I never use our haste line of buffs, am I missing the boat? We have so many choices and only 5 con slots! I go with Minstrel's, Niv's and then round it out with a mix depending on the group. I know it only works for melee attacks and it seems there is always something else we need more. I value my fellow troubador's opinions, so let me know it just doesnt seem worth the con slots for that 11%, maybe if we cast , and used spells 11% faster, but arent most of us spamming our special attacks anyway?

Our 11% haste is absolutely not worth the 2 concentration. You'll see more benefit from using those 2 concentration slots for str/agi buffs a debuff or a dot.

Yeah I figured, maybe for 1 slot, but even then how often are we just "meleeing", I dont think it does anything when you are using special attacks
Message Edited by DankShasta on 03-29-2005 04:09 AM

The only haste that I have seen personally that has done a major difference is Merciless Melody (Level 14 haste). It is our only haste that I have seen that increases in haste as you increase from App 1 to something higher. Mine went from 14% at adept one to 28% at Master 1. It helps greatly defeating many foes and helpping with many melee based groups.

This is the only spell I would consider worth 2 concentration slots, all the others just increase in Agi or blocking skills, which really doesnt help too much (but some yes).

Just my 2 cp =)

~Bink the Halfling Troubador~

I use haste every time I group, unless there is a Dirge in the group, since our haste's don't stack.

Hardly ever use it, unless my melee heavy group has run out of power and can no longer use specials. Even then I would have to drop 1-2 things to get it, and it probably is a bit risky losing defence or stats/health if the encounter took away their power. In the last few weeks I've actually used Quiron's more often in small groups, either to build up hate in a tankless group or heal in a healerless group :smileytongue:

I tend to use my level 42 Haste (Invigorating Opus) more than I ever did the previous ones. At adept I it adds around 18% haste, but more importantly adds another 4 defence. When in the Main tank group during raids, it really does help a lot. Sad really, that the haste element of the haste song is the least important

The problem with haste is it seems to have no impact on skill based damage... And that makes up the largest portion of all damage done... So even an 18% increase to attack speed is only going to net a couple percentage increase in damage done.
