<DIV>I have read several posts by troubadors talking about rooting mobs while soloing. Is the level 10 bard root, Vhalen's Immobilizing Shriek the only way they can do it? Or do troubs get a root song later in their careers? I am trying to pick my training on my new bard without messing him up for later. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also with the new changes to stat buffs stacking would that make any of you take different training options now?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
The level 10 root is the only one I have gotten to level 40. I never use it personally... but I think people who do a lot of range attacking on mobs use it sometimes. <div></div>
I use it with our bow moves, I can root it back off and shoot with the bow then go back to melee. You get it at level 10 as a trait.

I tried root before we got to respec our skills. It was handy a couple of times, but it didn't last long at all and I don't believe you could cast it while moving. As you level your run-speed debuffs improve and can be cast while moving. I find them more than good enough if I want to kite a little or for slowing down something that's chasing a group mateOn respec i picked up the kick/armor debuff instead. It's fast and low power and i use it all the time, even at 27, long after it's become grey.
