View Full Version : Adept 3 spells = downgraded Adept 1 ?!?

Hi,Last night i found a Palladium cluster and was really happy. Finally i was able to upgrade one of the spells i use. I spend a long time thinking about which skill would it be best used on, and even more time finding an Alchemist willing to make ink and the most time to find a Jeweler who was able and willign to make me a Ballad.Finally it was done: and Raxxyl's Energizing Harmony (Adept 3). My Adept 1 versoin did +28 to 3 stats, the App 4 version +26 i believe. So i assumed an Adept 3 should be good for like +32 at least and learned it happily.I checked the description and... +28 still. Ok, i think, maybe the description just didnt update right and try to use it. My stats go up +28...hmmm... Maybe my Power cost is reduced i think, or the range improved and so i ask a fellow Troubadour to tell me the stats his Adept 1 version has. We found out it the only thing that increased was: the power cost from 30 per use up to 40 per use for the exact same other effects... and increase in power cost of 33% with no benefit?I sent a ticket to CS to ask about this and have my Adept 1 spell and my palladium back. The answer i got is: "I checked the description and it is working as intended by the developers"My question back how it can be intended to punish players for upgrading a skill and got some babble about how the effects of skills would be secret ingame information that cant be given out.So i asked why the effects are printed on the description if its so secret and what the benefit is supposed to be and how this can be intended. All i got from there on was ignoring of my questions.So.... anyone in here knows what the huge secret benefit of the Adept 3 version of Raxxyl's is?

I say 1 thing.Bull-Malarkey.Tis need to be fixed, find a ultra rare gem...and all you get from it is having to use more power when you go with your buff spree... Yeah.This needs to be fixed.
What level are you? and what con is the spell? could be that the difference between adept I and adept III only becomes apparent once the spell is white-con. I was lucky enough to get a master of this spell so have no idea what the adept III gain is.

This type of %$#& is why a few of us have gotten together to create <a href="http://www.sunshadow.net/troubador/spells.htm" target=_blank>The Bard Spell Scaling Screenshot Page</a> It needs to be seriously looked at... and the only way it will get looked at is if we have enough data to really blast them with it... which I am thinking is coming soon. I am hoping to get teh dude in charge of spells into a chat room or e-mail or something... and have a little 1 on 1 with him to explain how we are broke and what they can do to fix us without making everyone else look broke (AKA restore balance) <div></div>

It might be that the benefit will come dometime laster, thats right, but if the benefit comes somewhere way down my career, why do i have to live with the higher power cost right now already? Wouldnt the power scale in the same way as the benefit? The numbers for the change from Adept I to Adept IV were: Power 30 to Power 40 -> Increase by 33.3% Effect +28 to Effect +28 -> Increase by 0% Seems to be a little out of balance. I expected an increase of the effect to +32 based on interpolation of the increase from App IV to Adept I which would have been 12.5% increase of the effect and still be almost 1/3 lower than the power cost increase. </span><div></div>

It really changes the Effect a little once its maxxed out: +34 instead of +33 with Adept I Wooohooo, sure was worth to waste a rare on i could have sold for 30 gold</span><div></div>

<div></div><a target="_blank" href="../view_profile?user.id=35924"><span>Claritin</span></a>, i was looking around a little more on your site, it should be stickied or something, so many spells are messed up...anyways... would it be possible to have the hovering windows pop up to the left of the mouse pointer? right now its a pain to try to read the master level spells since they pop up mostly outside the main window.And do you want contributions to your database? If so what format should the pictures be in and where should they be sent to?
