At level 26, I was able to do a 'race tradition' (me thinks) and I chose the Tracking option. It gave me +5 to my tracking ability. Frankly, I have no idea what this means. Does this mean I can track really high leveled mobs? Does this mean I have a greater range? Does this mean I can track/see invis?

<DIV>I assume it means range, havent even bothered looking.</DIV>
well we have a tracking skill that raises with level, its probably +5 to that like some bard songs add +5 to skills. So you track as if you are a level above.I think as you level the tracking range (before they broke it) went up slowly with level, so this skill lets your track a little further I suspect, but I doubt you'll notice a huge increase with just +5.

I am a level 26 Troubador with the Tracking ability. Last night, I played and my tracking was broken as well as my waypoint 'finder.'I can pull up a list of creatures to track but when I try to get a gold trail, there is none. A message pops that says something to the effect of: The thing you're looking for is too far away, you sense it to the East. So, I thought, fair enough, I'll just head that way and get closer. Well, I got to the creature I was looking for which was standing a few feet away from me and tested the tracking again. It gave no gold trail and it said again: The thing you're looking for is too far away, you sense it to the East.Anyone else have this problem?

Since im Ratonga i don't get this race tradition, so i dont think it has anything to do with being bard at all.I would assume its VERY useful if youre a Fighter in your race and can get the tracking skill in a weak, short-ranged form. If you already can track its rather useless i guess...

Fighters/Mages/Priests cannot track - even with the bonus +5 skill. You need the tracking ability to track. You're better off with a stat bonus or power/hp percent increase. There's also skills that can raise your defense or parry for some races.
