View Full Version : Charm tips & tactics?
Ok, I've been playing around with our charm spell & its been fun. But I haven't really tested it in combat yet. When do you use charm? How big a mob can you charm? Can we charm orange mobs? ^^ mobs? group mobs? Overall it looks like it can be used as a mez-variant in a pinch

<DIV>Sorry, tried to respond to this topic and wound up somehow making a brand new topic (which posted twice!?). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=36&message.id=1371" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=36&message.id=1371</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PS: Not a noob gamer I swear! Just new to using these forums.</DIV>
<DIV>I've played with charm alot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Heres some things I noticed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Can only charm ^ or lower.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can attack other mobs with a charmed critter. app1 will seem like its breaking when you try it, but I think thats just on a short timer. </DIV> <DIV>Do not attack another encounter with a charmed mob, it will make the encounter you are attacking unlock. Charmed mobs barrages will agro grey or non-agro mobs near it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't really use this spell much. Just a way to save a caster or priest. Things start to get messed up when you have your enthralled do too much. </DIV>

<DIV>I use charm all the time. I have found that strangely enough, Apprentice I and II enabled a greater rate of mob pet attack, although they say charmed pets can not attack. Not true. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The notorious goliath groups in the crater in TS offered up great damage-doing pets. However, when I switched to Adept I, the rate of breaking increased. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now I charm very regularly in 3 or more mob fights, especially ones with multiple casters or priests. Charming a healer to take it out of combat while you beat down the other caster/healer is a life (and power) saver.</DIV>
