<DIV>Is anyone else beside me frustrated with the buff timers on spells that are already limited by concentration and being group only?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We already have plenty to juggle with skills and heroic opportunity's it would be very nice if buffs using concentration had 12 hour durations like alot of the priest and mage buffs.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not sure what they were thinking with 10min durations its not like the mana usuage is significant considering how fast mana regens outside of combat and no combat lasts 10-15.  I understand the 3 min durations on songs that don't use concentration thats a limitation to balance them.  Maybe they were thinking that having bard songs dropping and being renewed so often was themey considering bard twining from Eq1, but speaking as a lvl 65 Bard from Eq1 my fingers were relived to leave twining behind (of course I didnt know when I started eq2 that they had decided to create an entire crafting system desinged around the concept of buff twining).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Eq2 bardsongs are no longer hard on the fingers, however the short buff timers are a constant nagging distraction that saps fun away while in groups. especially since the order of buffs in the window makes no since.  It doesn't group the buffs by caster or by what order they were cast in. they each seem to have a preset spot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tamman 28 Troubadour</DIV>

Once you get used to it - the 10 min buffs are fine. Way fine.3 min regen song are ok too without conc. Health regen costs 2 conc - that suck.Conc limits are intentional - if we can cast all buffs, we are way too godly buffers.Once you start to get higher level, you start to know which ones to cast in differentsituations.

<DIV>I did not suggest that concentration should be removed from our buffs I dont understand how you think I advocated that.  Concentration on our buffs is fine as is the 3 minute timers on the buffs without concentration.  I merely suggested that having buffs with 10 min timers have longer durations would make the game more fun.  I've also played a cleric and a mage and they both get buffs that last 12 hours why do we get ones that last only 10 mins?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know I can get used to mainting the buffs. I do it just fine, but that doesnt make it fun.  I twined 4 songs every 12 seconds  for hours at a time (5 if I threw in an instrument buff) in eq1 and I was good at it but that didnt make it any more fun there either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tamman 28 Troubadour</DIV>

<DIV>At first i was thinking like you that short duration buff was painfull, and i'm starting to change my mind, as it forces me to often recast it and therefore, play some little song <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It makes the troubadour look more like a bard and less like a Scout in disguise.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another way would be to make duration last longer but have some kind of music automatically plays on a regular basis, so we keep the "troubadour feeling" without the pain of always needing to recast all the time.</DIV>

<DIV>Dirge here =)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think the problem may be that we cannot recast buffs if our concentration pool is full.  This is not a bard class problem only; my templar and mystic cannot rebuff her courage or any other spell if her conc is full.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If we could reapply our songs without having to wait till the timer expires or manually canceling them it would fix alot of the problems.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I had an idea that stems from the way sprint works- if you are sprinting you can click the sprint hotkey and stop sprinting. If we could click the song-spell to cancel it this would save some hassle with having to cancel the buff from our maintained list manually.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I don't mind my buff durations. THey give me something to do every 3 - 10 minutes besides melee etc, makes me feel like I am doing more. The problem is recasting buffs shoudl be able to overwrite the one that is fading so we don;t have to right-click, cancel, then recast buffs.

<DIV>Some songs you can cancel by trying to cast it again soooooo until they fix it simply recast it to drop the song then refresh all the other songs with a concentration cost of the song you canceled or less then just recast in that same song. Almost as easy I think.</DIV>

personaly I dont mind the short timers too much although I would love it if the 3 min timer conc buffs were increased to 10 min like the rest. the bigest gripe is havein to cancel the buffs to rebuff. if I could cast over the old ones strait up I'd be golden.

<DIV>Just Brainstorming !</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is there a way to cancel Buff via an hotbutton ? </DIV> <DIV>That way you could make a combination of Cancelling and Buffing with one button!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Qulash</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>They pushed this change to test:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"Secondly, we have changed buff timers significantly. Short-duration group buffs will last 10 minutes instead of 3 minutes, and single-target buffs are being changed to last 15 minutes. This should provide increased utility to many buffs, both for soloing and group play."</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=chars&message.id=5736#M5736" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=chars&message.id=5736#M5736</A></DIV>
