Yes it works... very well. If you mean is it worth it, to upgrade it ... no, that I can tell. Cast time and recast time are the same. I still use the app1 version I got for free at lvl 25.

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Adept I of Escape merely increases the power cost as far as I can see. Maybe that will change after the patch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Escape is probably THE most powerful and useful ability a Troubador or any scout class will ever have. After 30 it is the no.1 reason to always have a scout in a group. Can't really beat a skill that takes 5 seconds to cast and saves a complete wipe-out. I couldn't even put a figure on how much debt this has saved me and those I've grouped with already.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

My first evening with this spell, I used it 3 times while grouping in RoV, the second time being after a zone crash which meant I returned ungrouped in a corridor which, though empty at the time, I knew was patrolled by some very nasty bats, so I pressed escape and I was back at the zone in. Half the guilies I was grouped with died on return and we had to rescue them with me using stealth to scout ahead, yes, I actually got to Scout!

I used this last night as well, 3 times with the same group. It's one of the skills/songs, that have been praised the most, obviously.

<DIV>Yes, a very nice song that is loved by every group member.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Saved my group last night when we got jumped by a large group of Cents in TS. One of them was named and there were 6 (all yellow ^^ to me @ 26). Tank couldnt get agro fast enough and the sole healer (druid) was taking a beating, healing herself, getting more agro, etc. Finally decided it was time for me to take action and I started singing. 5 seconds later we are all standing at the docks and everyone was complimenting me on my decision... and the main person that did?... the druid, who had single digit hit points left and OOP. 1 more second and she would have been dead. It felt good to avoid a complete wipe-out <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I read in another post that it is the <U>BARDS decision </U>of when to use this and we should not be waiting for a request or approval. We need to make up our mind instantly and sing the song when we feel our group is at risk. I read that at lvl 24 and since have used the song 3 times "in anger". Not once have I asked "should we evac?", just simply started singing and *poof* we are safe. Not a single group member complained (which was one of my main concerns) and most, if not all, thanked me for saving our hides. The way I look at it... it is much easier walking back to our hunting spot as a group and alive, then having to recover shards as individuals. Anyways, what Im saying is... dont be afraid to use it once you get it. If you see your healer(s) just about to drop, you know the rest of the group is going to drop soon after, so use it (hopefully) before the healer dies without hesitation or asking. Get the pat on the back you deserve and take a short hike back to your hunting spot and get back to work.</DIV>

It's a really good advice, because there are many groups that disband after a wipe. Of pickup groups anyway. But I still like to make sure whether it's ok for me to evac, and if the healer want to give the signal.
