I'm trying to decide between Dirge and Troub. Looking over the abilities list it seem like Dirge mige be better (though you have to wait till higher levels) because a) their fear can't be broken b) it has a short recast (even though it's a short duration) c) they have a song that increases hate on the tank (can't think of anything that can be more useful)Yeah troub's get a mez at lvl 50, but that's so far in the future I dont' want to think about it. So their charm is the best thing, but it seems like the recast is so long that this realy wouldn't be more then a situational last-resort kind of thing. Baisically you pick up an add and occasionally have a charm that you can use to contain it.And also troubs only have a song to gradually decrease their hate in the encounter. Wouldn't it be more useful to have a song that pulls hate onto the tank? i mean, how would that gradual decrease really help unless you've done something silly (like singing a bunch of songs durgin battle) and pulled hate.I've heard that Troubs have an easier time getting groups at higher levels, but why is that? Seems like the Dirge might be a little better with CC.Hmm, just read that you can only target mobs with the Dirge song to increase target hate... is that right? is it a bug? if not then nevermind <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by Fhalladas on <span class=date_text>12-12-2004</span> <span class=time_text>08:09 AM</span>

<DIV>TO be honest, the differences between the two classes is minimal, and both sides seem to suffer from "the grass is allways greener" syndrome.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally I would've gone Dirge over Troubador if it wasn't for the lvl 50 mezz, which I think will be far more usefull than fear. However Dirges seem to have alot of offence increasing abilities that shouldn't be ignored.</DIV>

<DIV>The dirge song that Adds Hate does not add hate to the tank...you cannot cast it on another player or you get the "this target is not an enemy" or something like that. It has to be cast on a mob, and it increases your hate gradually....you can't cast it on a mob and pick who gets the hate added. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It works exactly the same as the Troub song that you have to cast on a mob, and it gradually reduces your hate. You can't cast it on the cleric or enchanter or any player.</DIV>

It's a group buff. Kind of like an upgraded Rousing Tune that stacks with Rousing Tune. I haven't noticed much of a difference, if any, in hate levels while using it, though I've only had it for about 50% of a level's worth of xp now.</DIV>
I use Raxxyl's regularly, and it does increase hate, but never never enough to pull away from a good tank. What I find is that, if a tank pulls but hasn't damaged all the mobs in the encounter, after the next tick, they'll turn to fight me instead of the tank.
