<DIV>I am a 20th level Troubador, and have been using entirely dual weild piercing weapons. I'm currently equiped with pristine carbonite stiletto and kris, which are both orange to me. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I received my troubador reward sword, and was soo peeved with it I sold it for 40 silver and bought myself these piercers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm beginning to think, maybe sword/sheild was a good idea in the first place. I mean if all my skills are in agility and .. escaping blows, wouldnt a little bit more ac help? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've spoken to some other Troubadors from Qeynos and they all seem to be using dual piercers too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How about everyone else?</DIV>

<DIV>I also DW, 33 Troubador.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've tried 1h and shield, but I so rarely get aggro it's just a waste. Also, when fighting highlvl mobs where your missrates are higher (Thanks to the Songsters Luck nerf), you will have less penalty when you attack twice every round.</DIV>

<DIV>Would going DW with one piercer and slasher be a better idea than two piercers or two slashers? It will work both skills that way correct?</DIV>

It would have to be one very good sword/shield combo. In general we have alot of songs that add bonus's (procs, haste, etc...) to all attacks, the more attacks you have the more you benefit. When grouping its the tanks job to take all the attacks while yours is to maximize damage output.

<DIV>Nono. I mean .. in my last post.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Instead of using two piercing weapons...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Because I've decided im going to stick with dual weild..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would it be smart to use a piercing weapon AND a slashing weapon, both DW?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I'm not mistaken this will raise the skill of both piercing and slashing right?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And then if something occurs and I want to switch to One Hand Slash, I'll still have the skill ups, but be terrible in parry ;P</DIV>

<DIV>I have alwasy used diferent kind of weapons (piercing and slash) just because I like to keep my skill maxed all the time. Dunno if there is an advantage on using 2 piercing, or whatever...currently using Hatchet of the Forsaken and a pristine carbonite Kris.</DIV>

<DIV>Yep, now bringing up my slashing skill. I'm 20th level, now have carbonite stiletto and a Flail of mourning?.. which is actually a short sword.</DIV>

<DIV>As to a piercer vs. a slasher, just use your 2 best weapons so as to help your dps as much as possible.  If you neglect to train up slashing skill, and then 10 levels later get a great slasher, the skill-ups will come quite quickly.  It won't take long to train up a weapon skill to max.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At lvl 23 I dual wield 2 spears.  These are the spears from the named skellies in Thundering Steppes.  They are a little slow (1.7 seconds) but high damage output.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I cannot imagine using a shield as an EQ2 bard.  Our hp's are low, so we should not be 'tanking.'  If you know how to play your class, you will not be taking melee damage.</DIV>
