To be more precise: * The Ancient Vorpal Blade drops off Venekor in HoS.* Lyceum End-Mob has a 78.5 DR 1hs Sword with 3s delay and a good min/max ratio (Viludicae's Sword of Shielding).* Shadow Axe has 82 DR + a dmg proc and comes off A Shadowy Presence in HoS. But an Axe will not work with 'Torporous Strike' from str AA.

You also might want to add Chel'Drak's Shard to that list as well. Not sure if it works with the AA, but a guildie uses this as his 1h item. Ohhh, and Serrated Sword of Retribution (also off of Chel'Drak) 79.8 raiting, decent proc.

<DIV>Shadowaxe, drops off of the easiest mob in HoS, even easier than most of the trash, the shadowy presance. 81 DR, decent crit spread and a decent proc, pretty much the best weapon you can get until you can kill Venekor. His two 1h are the next best, then the best comes from chel'drak, the hardest instanced encounter gamewide. His is 87DR with a proc, don't remember the crit range.</DIV>

I'm using the ancient vorpal blade off Venekor, he finally dropped it the bastage.  It's pretty nice, I saw a near 100 dps increase off the qeynos kilij in lycaeum.  The best sword in game if you want to use torporous strike.  I'd say forget torporous strike though and take the shard if it dropped though.

Ouch, that's pretty bad.  We've had good luck with him.  We got a shaman bp for both our shamans which is a sweet item and the ancient vorpal blade in our last 3 kills so we've been getting lucky.  He drops some junk.

I just picked up the Shadow Ax last night. I may lose Torporous Strike, but an upgrade DR from 60.9 to about 82 is well worth it.

I still keep using my Axe over my Kilij unless I'm forced to use piercing. Hopefully a cutlass or CD Shard drops again soon.
