hey.. once you hit level 20, go to Dyric Pire in East Freeport. He starts the armor quest series, which is probably the best armor you will get at that level. If you have trouble finding him opening tracking and you'll find him easily. Hope this helps, and good luck!

<P>Mastercrafted is player made items with a rare ingredient...ex : tier 1 common is tin, the rare is bronze, tier 2 common is iron when mining, but the rare is blackened iron....</P> <P>So try finding the rare and get someone to make the armor for you. Or just buy them off the broker. Not sure what is the rare for tier 3 though....and get rare loams to make adept 3 spells made by a jeweler.</P>

<DIV>As an option that I took, you may consider the same...get the Mastercrafted Dextrous Leather armor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The mitigation is slightly higher than the common chain, the stats are WAY better, and it's a fraction of the cost of the rare chain.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh...and the avoidance is higher in leather so that's another benefit.</DIV><p>Message Edited by ThadeusOfShibboleth on <span class=date_text>10-14-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:05 PM</span>

unless anyone has addressed this to you since, you probably have no idea what "tier" means when talking about items.basically, the player-made items go by a 'tier' system, with each 'tier' being about 10 levels. these are abbreviated t1,t2,t3, etc up to t7.now that probably doesn't mean anything still, but that's the terminology.what happens is you need an item, so you find the right crafter. your wanted chain armor, so you'd look for an armorer. (easy)armorer - chain and plate armorweaponsmith - weaponstailor - leather and cloth armor, inventory bags, ammo containers, hex dolls, thrown weaponswoodworker - bows, ammo, wooden weapons, totemscarpenter - strong boxes, salesman crates, furniture, repair kitsprovisioner - food and drinksage - priest (healer) and mage spellsalchemist - fighter combat arts / spells and potionsjeweler - scout combat arts / spells and jewelry / accessory itemsnow that you've decided what you need, and you've found the right craftsman, you need to know what specifically is best for you and what you can get your hands on. for this, you'll want to have a chat with the craftsman. he or she will be able to help you figure out what you need or what would be best. also make sure to ask if they make stuff for your level (some people only craft higher-tier stuff... jerks).so there are basically two types of crafted gear: handcrafted and mastercrafted. handcrafted items are kind of like "starter" gear. they're not that great, and it's not hard to find stuff better than this. these items are made from common resources. resources are collected from randomly dispersed harvesting "nodes" - for example: ore, fallen branches, etc. resources found in a zone work off of the tier system as well. the newbie isle as well as newbie yards around the city have tier 1 resources. commonlands has tier 2, nek forest tier 3, and so forth progressing with enemy level.mastercrafted items come from rare materials harvested from the same harvesting nodes. these raw rare materials are marked "treasured". for t2 (commonlands harvests) examples are blackened iron (ore. instead of just iron, the analogous common material) and severed bone (wood). the mastercrafted items are much better than handcrafted and are better than most treasured items also.i hope that helps some.<div></div>
