<DIV>I was examining a fellow brig one day, who was about 2 levels my junior. As I am looking at his numbers compared to mine, I had actually slightly better stats, except for wisdom, which he had more of. One thing stood out to me, and I am not sure why this is happening. He had a near 44% avoidance, while I only had 23% avoidance. Why is that? Then, the more I look at it, I now notice that my avoidance is sometimes as low as 12%, but never never over 28%. Why? Is there something I did/did not do?</DIV>

He may have had his defensive stance on. And when you use your offensive stance your's will go down.

Aye if you are in Off stance your avoid goes way down. Also he may have had equipment on with + to Def or parry which will make Avoid go up. Your Stances are the most likly culprit though.

But it sounds like the true culprit to the difference is what everyone else was stating. Sounds like he was in defensive stance and you were in offensive.</div>

<DIV>Yea, maybe so. I tend to use Rash Advance when I am in pvp. Will have to look next time I am on. Thanks for the advise. </DIV>

yeah, check your stance and defense / parry ranks<div></div>
Also, you said his Wis was higher than yours, which suggests that he may have taken the Wis line. If he took it all the way to Coule, then he has an additional significant bonus to defense. Who knows, he may also have the defense AA from the strength line. I mainly solo or duo on my 68 brigand so I have tried to max out all the defenseive bonuses, including lots of +def gear. I routinely have self buffed avoidance in the 53-55 range, and that's without even maxing the STR defensive buff and with only Adept I in the defensive stance. The game allows a fair bit of choice in what you want to maximize based on skills, AA's and gear.<div></div>

(btw there is an aa that give a % to reposte and parry and is better point for point than the str + def aa) i was routinely at around 59% avoidance and 3.8k mit solo.. Dirge and a templar = low end plate tank mit with monk avoidance. Was def fun!</div>
