Comming back to the blue server after tons of pvping and I'm trying to decide on a new class to play.I mainly want to get into raiding. so the character that I pick is going to be mainly dependant on that. I am stuck between necro and brigand. both have things that I like. The Necro has many different styles of play where the Brig has good debuffs and dps alike. The questons:1. How "Fun" are brigs? Like, how enjoyable is it to play them.2. Group getting-- Is it easy?<div></div>

<P>I have a friend that swears only by the Necro class...and for reason, they are a great class</P> <P>Being a Brig is really fun because you're in the action. Great DPS, debuffs.....make us a must in any group set-up....We can even tank! ( I did it the other night because our sk was 4 levels below us and healer couldn't keep up)</P> <P>A lot of positioning make it even more attractive because of the challenge of using a stun and placing yourself for a good back attack or two.</P> <P>I really like, when solo, to cast slow, range attack, and then go with cheap shot, a couple of back attacks, black jack and successors, another back attack, low blow and successors, then finish him up with a couple of front attcks.......even in an emergency you have Ruse and successors to save the day...... its really is great to play!</P> <P>You also get the best mitig. debuffs like devitalize and dispatch(im not a that level yet, but can't wait to get there)</P> <P>not to forget indirect aoe avoidance(most of the time)</P> <P>I'm having a great time......lets see what others have to say</P> <P> </P>

Main is a Necro, Necro in eq1 too. I just like pet classes and particularly the necromancer. However I'm here in this forum as I have a low level Brigand and I'm reading up. I love it so far and love the "in your face" nature of the brigand I have experienced so far. I'm not sure if that will continue into the 30+ levels but its the most fun I've had with an alt for sure. The funny thing is I never expected it. I'm getting the impression that brigands are a bit misunderstood actually and I like that. <div></div>

Group getting-- Is it easy?"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well, my main is a necro which I have played since Nagafen opened and I am currently working on a few alts including a brig. I think that both classes are extremely fun (funnest so far for me) and both have a lot to offer a group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My necro continues to amaze me at his versatilty. Often in my guild I am invited out because I can fill multiple roles and due to time zone differences there isn't always adequate fillage on. Just the other day I was in a trio with a troub and a bruiser where i was DPS, CC and healer in RE. Later we went to Cazic Thule and added a troub, a dirge and a defieler and then I switched to all out DPS and backup healed the defieler when he got aggro. Honestly, there is never a dull moment with a necro and I always feel useful. I guess the only nock is that there are a ton of necro's out there and if your deal is PUG's then it may be hard to find a spot due to competition, but usually it's not that bad. I think people realize now we are not just soloers and actually are better groupers imo. For raids that is where a necro really shines. We are the kings of long term dps due to our power management and long lasting dots/pet dmg. Usually in raids your going up against much tougher mobs that don't drop in seconds, so here you can perform a very needed role. You can also backup heal, rez, trash mobs tank.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My Brigand is fresh, but climbing fast. I try to group as much as possible with him to gaige (sp?) his strengths. Again, the brig seems to be able to fill multiple roles and the debuffing really improves group performance. Mobs hit less and less hard and are easier to kill (for everyone). So your healer has to heal less and your support has more power. The result is your group can xp grind like crazy, oh and the stuns too... The brig also has that great scout utility like tracking, group speed and evac and then there is the group stealth which at lower levels can help you drag SK's and Inquisitors through annoying aggro areas to the good stuff (aka smuggle them <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />). Often in smaller groups with just a healer and dps I can successfully perform the tanking role too, using my stuns like taunts per say. But above all else the brig just flattens things. I feel like a burst of energy playing him for some reason and he just took over #1 alt for me lol (that's saying somethign for me, that was a coveted spot in my arsenal). It's a really fun class and well done imo, even after the last LU. As far as groups go, you should have little problem finding a group that is looking for a brig because they are the least played of classes in the blue servers (not so in pvp as you probably saw). The only problem I can see, as someone already alluded too, is that we are not really understood. I don't think people realize how much we can actually improve the efficiency of a group, it's less tangable then performing a set role like "tanking". At the high end though brigs become essential in my opinion and the opinion of my guild members due to our debuffs mainly. The great thing about our debuffs though is that we don't have to sacrifice DPS to apply them. For example, my necro can either cast a debuff or a dps spell, but they don't over lap. I can have them running at the same time, but I am loosing dps casting the debuff until I click on a dps again. With the brig though your debuffs are a part of your CA's for DPS, so you maintain what dps you normally do. I hope that is valid for higher levels, but mine is still growing and I only know what I have experienced and what my guild teaches me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The one thing I have learned though, is that it's much more important to play a class that you enjoy playing (i.e. the persona and the role that the class fills) then to play the most "desired" class. You will get so much more out of this game if you do that then if you are just filling a need. Unfortunately the only way to know that is to actually play both until one of them (or both if your like me) grow on you. For me, I enjoy the support role because it's the most creative role in a group (my opinion). I am never just doing the same ole thing like healing, dps and tanks. I can say that so far at least, the necro and brig fill that role extremely well so I think you have made an outstanding choice going with either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>GL!</DIV>
