Why would any one want to go searching for ore and sell them for a plat, when you can steal 15 copper from mobs???

Nice guide. After the latest patch it seems wood, roots, and pelt rares are slightly easier to harvest. (teir 3 anyway) Stone seems to be the same. As for ore, it's proving quite impossible to lay my hands on. Imbueing rares are even simpler to find. Not that anyone actually considers them rares.

3 days, 3 hours each spent harvesting.

Over 1200 ore raws. 2 loams, no ore. :smileymad:

Over 1000 stone raws. 2 Jaspers. :smileysad:

Around 1400 root raws. 4 rare roots.

Around 800 pelts. 4 rare pelts.

Over 1200 wood raws. 4 rare wood.

In the process, 31 imbueing rares. Yeesh. I personally hate harvesting. I don't understand why find rare ore has to be this difficult to find. Ore has always been a pain, but this is flipping insane. It must suck to be a casual player that has little time to harvest.

Wardyn,/agree/nod/agreeThe den's give out too much meat and not enough pelts. The ore's give out too much loam and not enough metal. (hence rare metal being extremely rare)I have exactly zero faith, however, that they will eventually fix it. They can't even make harvest nodes despawn. Once those suckers have spawned inside a tree, no way no how are they going away. Suck it up, harvesters, and move on, that node ain't movin'.

I just stick to T1 because I like hearing that rare sound. Sure they're worthless, but it's all in the perception. Plus, the market for pristine tailored rawhide is really underserved!

Particularly with the Trap and Ore node problems. It's very time consuming getting raws. Particularly pelts. With all the changes, it's not nearly as rewarding being a crafter. However, SOE has slowly, but surely worked at making crafting less important. It's sad, but my dreams of a virtual world of sorts have long since been dashed in regards to EQ2. Perhaps the next MMORPG. Vanguard sounds good, but so did EQ2 before I actually played it. Hopefully McQuaide learns from EQ2's dreadfull launch, and doesn't have to pull a 180 just a few short months after launch. That's what opened the door to WOW being so dominant in my opinion. Don't ship a half finished product.

/senseless rant off

While I didn't spend as much time harvesting, here are my results: Roughly 100 Feyiron (along with probably 200 normal loam I tossed) 2 Laom 2 Imbue 0 Feysteel Add to that that the ore nodes were NOT plentiful (hell there were more STONES then anything imo) and you don't have a good situation. Not to mention that I wasn't going after the feysteel to make money but rather make me a new weapon (i'm a WS) My results for roots and hides weren't any better... Roughly a 2:1 ration of meat:hide (gave some to my guild's prov who cooked me up some food earlier) with no rares and no rares for roots either (least you can only pull roots from roots...) I had even worse luck back in Nek Forest BEFORE the patch.. NEVER saw a rare from an ore back then, and I don't even want to think of how many I harvested totally to go from literally 20 WS to 31. Only saw like 2 imbues and 1 hide rare during all that time also. In the end, I did get a feysteel (1 down 1 to go) from a guildy (incidentally the same one who was the cook) as a reward for completing a couple writs and being a general help to the guild. It's not that ores rares are hard to get it seems.. just hard to get until you are a bit over the level for that node. I bet I could go back to nek and have a semi-decent rate on getting steel and other rares... and going back to CL would probably yield a high rate also. So, all in all, ya it sucks, especially if you "need" the rare for a craft and near the level of the node. As for the list, very nice. FYI, Weaponsmiths use the same as Armorer for what we need. Ore, Pelts, and Roots. They got rid of wood from the recipies it seems, even for things with a wodden handle.

I finally found a steel yesterday after roughly 2200 ore raws. 1000 ore/1200 loam. It's ptitfull, and hopefully something they change since every class now needs ore for one reason or another. I personally wish they would just stick all harvesting in an instanced zone like teir 3 and 4. It's not like they want crafting to be that viable anymore. They just want to be WOW nowadays. Sad.

It wouldn't be as bad if they just added another node for loam/meat... I remember back when I first got into t3 and started mining carbonite... I was SO glad to stop pulling LOAM up. The various meats in dens weren't too bad, as a WS I was only using 1 per weapon, and sometimes I was using Ash instead. So it wasn't that bad really. Even now under the new system I use 2 for pretty much every combine, so it still isn't really that bad. Just a bit more of an annoyance. I can't imagine having it is a main/sub component (like with carbonite) though... so I can sympathize with people on that. I never really bothered with paying attention to a ratio from the stones, as I was only making tempers from them, but I think normally I was about 1:1 so that probably isn't as big a problem. Luckily, the den and stone nodes seem to be plentiful, so it certainly isn't as bad an annoyance as the ore. I really think that we just need a separate node for loam… that would really be the best option imo.
