<DIV>Hello everyone!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway yesterday I made a decision, and that was to go from my Bruiser to a Brigand. Why? Not because I dont love the Bruiser, however it is a class that is not well suited for solo PvP. (Oh yeah I play on Vox). Since I see myself playing more and more alone, I figure that I am going to have to play a tracking class at one point or the other. Since Assassins are not my thing I chose to make a Brigand.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Obviously I will read the boards and get as much knowledge as I can, however I would like to get some general tips from the Brigand community on the Brigand class. The "You should get this, do this, have this" type of answers. Its much appreciated, and thanks in advanced.</DIV><p>Message Edited by saubertounito on <span class=date_text>05-11-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:25 AM</span>

You should play an Assassin. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

Yarr, matey. There be no light on the horizon for this cursed crew! Begone, lest ye perish in our wake.

<DIV>I am not trying to be elite, I am trying to play a class that would suit me well. I dont want to play an assassin or Ranger, I want to play a "thug" type class (hence Bruiser prior to this class). So if I play a class that isnt as good as it was then all the kudos to me if I do well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So any other advice?</DIV>

well in the next live update one of our stun lines is getting turned into a "root that holds the target's direction" *cute voice* and we're losing damage in a few areas as well as taking a few other stun duration nerfs... so whatever you've heard about brigs in pvp is going to change. even in pve, i see this being a huge kick in the groin to our soloing prowess.if you wanna play a brigand, go for it. it starts to get rather fun around the mid-50s. just don't expect it to be great for soloing after the next LU.<div></div>

It still allows us to do what we need to do, however until we are in their back stabbing away they can attack. Big deal, they cant attack once we are behind and in my mind the whole point is to allow us to get off our back styles. If its that big of a concern use slip or what varient you get at your level and they lose target run behind and wahlah you dont take damage.

the fact is that many combat arts and just about every spell doesn't require you to be facing your target to cast it. but if you don't believe me and you're on a pvp server, you'll find out soon enough for yourself. <span>:smileytongue:</span><div></div>

Guess well have to see exactly what it does, and I do know that autoattack stops when you are not in front or the side of your target.

They said nothing about killing the duratioin of it just making it a root in place. You still have plenty of time to get to your targets back. Basicly you have not tried to pvp with the new changes and you want to give up already. I would continue my bruiser if they got track, unfortunately they dont so I am forced to make a new character that can.</P> <P> </P>

well, no. i actually don't pvp with a brigand. and i'm still playing, so i haven't given up yet.i think it's dumb. if it hits the live servers, i will /feedback it and tell them what i think. if i can't stand it, i'll just play a different character. but i wouldn't go without giving it a shot. c'mon they killed wardens in lu13 and i still toughed it out and mine is level 70 even though i don't like the class nearly as much as i did.<span> :smileytongue:i can probly deal with being able to get behind mobs even if the can still hit me.... i'd read the "coming changes" and was expecting it... but now to take damage away from it... that's just.... blah. not needed.</span><div></div>

<P>I'm on Nagafen and have a Bruiser in the upper 60's and a Brig around 30. Both are fun, but here's the lowdown as far as PvP is concerned. Bruisers are lotsa fun in the right group. Brigands are lotsa fun in any group or even solo. Bruisers sort of depend upon a Scout to track for them. Without a scout you're always facing higher level PvP'ers, so while you'd think Bruisers would die less, they actually get ganked more often by higher cons because they don't see them coming. Now, if a Bruiser is in the group with a Scout, a Healer and a Dirge ... the Bruiser is a juggernaut and tons of fun. But without that tracker, expect to be jumped by lots of yellow and orange cons, and from level 50 up, by a lot of level 70's too. Sinkings Sands, Tenebrous Tangle, etc. ... they're all looking to gank you when you con lower than them. The big difference is that Scouts can track. Brigands can see stealth, so even stealthed Swashies are on your Track; and Assassin's can see Invis, so they even get Rangers and Casters on their track. </P> <P>Any group of 1 Bruiser, 1 Brigand, 1 Assassin, 1 Dirge, 1 Healer + 1 more of any class = uber PvP team. Dirge buffs make the 3 mele classes insane DPS, and the Healer to keep them alive. With both a Brigand and an Assassin, it tracks everything that moves. </P> <P>So, if youre looking to solo, a Brigand, Assassin, Ranger or Swashy are all great. </P>

brigands will never handle adds well. since our main soloing strategy is to take all of our powerful attacks (with long recast timers) and hit them fast to bring the target down as soon as possible, a second or even third opponent will only get a few low-damage attacks while we wait for the recast timers on the big hits.<div></div>
