View Full Version : Brigand Weapon Question
Fairly new to Brigand (other character is a Bruiser) and I am just curious as to what type of weapon I should be looking for as far as delay goes? I realize for some mobs I will need different types (slash, crush, pierce, etc) but I am unsure as to the best weapon setup for a brigand...with my bruiser I went with 2 batons for short delay...more spell interrupts and more chances to proc off of my offensive stance.Any help would be much appreciated. And although I am new to this forum...I guess I should add...I started a Brigand because I love to torture myself, we suck.

You will actually see more procs if you use a slower delay weapon in your mainhand. Proc rate is normalized to weapon speed, so if all you did was auto-attack, any delay weapon should proc the same rate over a long duration as any other weapon. However this weapon delay is also used to determine proc rate on combat arts.... and combat arts have their own timers. So, you will get more procs - and that includes poisons, de-aggro, knockdown from deceit, interrupts from offensive rogue stance, as well as Engulf on your bruiser's offensive stance - using the slowest delay mainhand possible. By the way this also works with defensive procs, though it probably shouldnt.... my berserker gets far, FAR more "provoking defense" taunt procs over time using a 3.8 second weapon vs a 1.7.

Now that doesn't mean you should necessarily use the slowest, there are other things to consider, such as the stats, health, and damage rating. I however still bring out the cobalt leafblade (2.1 delay) when raiding if it's critical that I land a slow poison early in the fight, rather than the higher damage fabled weapons with 1.2 delay.
