<DIV>Hello everyone, I just started EQ2 about a month ago and i want to make an alt. Im looking at a Brigand or an assassin. So if anyone could give me a basic run down on what brigands do, what their place in a group is, what their nifty skills are, and how they go about killing things ect. It would help me a lot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S. i have been reading a lot of the posts and i have an idea on what brigands do but its still a bit foggy.</DIV>

<P>have to agree with kirmatt, what he wrote about brigs is what we are</P> <P>I wouldn't ask on the assassin boards if I were you though, you only will get a 50 page whine thread, along with the other existing ones there</P> <P>if you want easy dps for all situations, go ranger or shwash, ranger being the easiest atm, shwash with slightly more agro issues, freeport classes are not the way to go right now hehe</P>
in a raid situation, since 90% of raids mobs have or will have WoF or AE_01 brigands are the 2nd highest scout dps. Rangers still will beat us since they can do 600dps with a bow w/o using much power what so ever. Assassins as you can see on their boards are extremely broken, or so they say. Swashbucklers well they have mezzes and stuff. In group situations we all can do 4-700ish dps on nearly all fights so really it doesnt matter. Personally Amazing Reflexes is the best skill in the game and alone is worth being a brigand now. Agro is a huge issue for us, well unless you always have a paladin tanking. SInce not all of us have a paladin in their pockets agro will be an issue til they change the adversaries line to something more useful. <div></div>

<DIV>Brigands/rogues in general have some other small perks over assassins like better dmg from the front, more hp, and a taunt/divine dispel. Of coarse this won't mean much to you in a raid but if you find yourself needing to paper tank or solo they come in handy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some other unique abilities to are:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ruse, (another solo/paper tank only situation, basically if your hit while its on the mob gets nuked for a good amount of dmg, useless if yur not tanking though).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3 differnt melee stuns + one ranged stun (to bad this got nerfed and means nothing but dmg in raids anymore, still handy in groups though and for soloing for stun/backstab combos. Also provides a very nice edge in duels.)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Group Sneak (once again not too handy on a raid although it has it nitches I hear, very nice when grouping through duengens. However it's only good if your groups not [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Beg for Mercy (this line of spells is very handy for saving casters in a group, if u go brig make this one of yur easy to hit hotbuttons. Basically it's a short duration buff u cast on someone else that lets u absorb some of the dmg they take (Plead for Mercy adept 1 does 63%) and makes them lose one hate position and 500 hate each time there hit. It only lasts 3 hits though.)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also I haven't noticed any problems with keeping hate off myself in raids (maybe its just the lvls the MT has on me). I find that if I through in Shadow Slip and my evade I'm ok. Also the Self Preservation line causes me to lose a hate position when ever I'm hit, though thats not very sound on a raid I know.</DIV> <DIV>Fyi too, group sneak, beg for mercy, the taunt, and the stuns are also abilities swashy's have.</DIV>

what i like about brigand is the fact it is a small community and not very many being played on your server...the other thing i like is the fact you can tank if you need to for the group and you are a great soloist...what the others say is true about us we are great dps and agro [Removed for Content] but overall i love this class.
