<DIV>Ok my guild and myself use combat stats and I find myself averaging about 240 ( with no master striker or ruse) and not very happy about it because i know i am doing more damage than that</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then last night my friend was using statylizer and i was averaging about 450 ok so what is combat stats not picking up about us brigands?? <DIV>Hmmm did I understand correct, for the exact same fight the difference between the programs was 240 vs 450 dps? If thats the case, seems Combatstats might have been parsing the breaks between fights, and therefore lowering the dps? I have been using both programs for a long time and never felt they are showing different numbers... </DIV>
I use EQ Companion. It comes up with the same DPS and average damage values for CA's and auto-attack that my own perl-based parser does, so I figure it's close enough. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />EQ Companion can do real time fight stats as well as analyze historical data.

One thing I always noted about combat stats was how it was set up determined what you got back in dps when people pasted it to group chat. Like as an assassin I could do all my big attacks at the start of a 4-6 mob encounters and when someone pasted it to group chat it didnt display my true high hit but instead the high hit on the last mob of the encounter. So while stat was showing my very high combat stats showed me low but its just how they sampled the data. Combat stats has different settings for where it stops recording a fight and I think the default is by experience whereas your true encounter dps is by when you finish the encounter which one of the other settings. I made stat to go by encounter as default which is why they can look different and eq companion also goes by encounter I believe. So its not that either is wrong just different ways of using the data.

Personally, I have relied almost solely on Combat Stats Monitor. Been meaning to try others, but have been spreading myself quite thin with many things other than Everquest 2 since Desert of Flames launched. The main complaint(s) I have had with CSM is the removal of the tab that had the graphic representation of the group dps, and it being replaced with a text-based summary per person. Then again, that is mostly do to running the parser [usually] on a second computer. Fortunately, I did manage to find my old installer and has been working fine since. The other complaint being my own in ability to remember to manually turn off CSM while experience is disabled, or I am (for any other reason) not receiving bonus experience for the encounter. The start/stop method is nice when it works for an extended period of time, but a pain when it needs to be changed often or need to be doen manually. <div></div>

<P>For live parsing ingame I use Combat Stats Monitor : <A href="http://www.combatstats.com/" target=_blank>http://www.combatstats.com/</A></P> <P>For offline parsing, studying, comparision and exports, I use EQCompanion : <A href="http://home.inreach.com/kai/EQCompanion/" target=_blank>http://home.inreach.com/kai/EQCompanion/</A></P>
