<DIV>Heres a few tricks ive picked up from my pvp experiences as a 50 Brigand with average gear.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) Always start a fight with <STRONG>Cheap Shot</STRONG> (lvl 6 scout ability).  It has a 0.2 second cast time and gives u 6 seconds to get into position for a back stab like Debilitate. Also it throws the opponent off their rhythm. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) <STRONG>Stun, Damage, Stun</STRONG>.  As others have pointed out this is our basic way of winning a duel.  Make sure u dont use all ur stuns at once but spread them out so that as one is fading another can be whacked on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) <STRONG>Up Braid</STRONG> vs priests.  This taunt skill and others in its line dispels buffs and heals off Priests and Paladins.  Very handy against druid Dust Storm and reactive heals. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4) <STRONG>Invis</STRONG> vs fighters.  I have found fighters especially warriors and bruisers are tough to beat.  The best tactic i have found so far is to use a quick burst of dps at the start of fight then invis and allow stun attack timers to reset.  No worries about them healing so no need to rush dps.  Any other tips are appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5) <STRONG>Deception (Ruse).  </STRONG>Use early against Fighters and Scouts because u wont be fighting long anyway.  Save till the end against priests so that u can take out their last slab of hit points in a Surprise Attack. Dont bother using against Conj/Necros because their pets will probably take the damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6)  <STRONG>Daring Advance</STRONG>.  In my experience the offensive stance is best for pvp because of its interupt proc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These are just a few quick tips.  They will win you some fights and wont help at all in others.  I have tried not to include obvious things like poisons.  Feel free to post any other USEFULL pvp tips on this thread.  Dont boast about how good you are.  If ur not dying then ur not fighting good enough players.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Stilgar</DIV> <DIV>50 Barbarian Brigand</DIV> <DIV>Butcherblock</DIV>

<P>another option to start is timing snoop to be stealthed right after countdown is finished (not against other scouts)</P> <P> should be good if you wait just a little after counter ticks 2 sec, but the timing needs some experience</P>

<P>invis as the duel begins as to they lose targeting.</P> <P>my main problem is once i get stunned its all downhill.  im a 51 brigand on blakburrow and i use pretty much what you posted up before.  dueling people that use heavy stuns is my biggest problem.  Ive dueled several enchanters and if they begin their stuns i cant even move before the im dead.   against assasins if they land their like 15 second stun im pretty much dead before its over with.  </P> <P>it seems we can't take much dmg but we push it out very quickly, so fighting anyone in more then a 20 second fight works against us, and the longer it takes the less chance we have.</P> <P> Deception adept 3 works great on the unsuspecting, also debilitate seems to work well.  </P> <P> </P> <p>Message Edited by Avison66 on <span class=date_text>09-20-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:07 AM</span>

Yeah, first stun wins in so many fights. Upbraid vs. healers was a great tip.

Totally agree on the upbraid, that makes a huge difference, when i fight preists, clerics especially, first thing i do is cheap shot upbraid and backstab, then the whole stun attack stun attack stun business, but on clerics upbraid away their reactives and for furies their weird barb thing <div></div>

good post.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I usually start with rapid throw since i dont have to be close to use it and it gives me enough time to set up. i also spam the rapid throw early before people with ae's get me ae'ed(break invis)-targeted-stunned. upbraid is nice and the text letting you know which buffs were dispelled is awesome. <div></div>

Do you know which filter that is in the chat options? The displaying of which buffs/effects you have dispelled? I've been looking for weeks now. (on my warlock pre-expansion). And would be useful indeed in duels now. <div></div>

Rapid Throw skill line is also an excellent way to start a fight, not many expect a ranged knockback/stun on a start. After that, close up on the opponent and start the usual stun, damage, stun chain. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
