I'm seeing rumors that Arrow levels no longer matter for combat arts. So, I'm wondering if I'm spending money needlessly on feyiron arrows. Most of the time, I'm only using arrows when soloing (Maddening Shot). I use the hunting arrows (slashing), but really don't have a solid reason why I use those.

While I agree that they don't seem to matter for combat arts, they do matter for normal ranged shots. As you get higher and try ktiing mobs from time to time, those in between shots, while you wait for your special to come up, mean more. You want the most damage out of those shots that you can get IMO. I suspect being a Ranger means more specials and less dependancy on in between normal ranged shots. Being a Brigand though, you ahve one ranged CA, so you'll be shooting more in between and need the better arrows.

No self respecting Brigand would EVER bow kite. I use mad shot for pulling when I am feeling extra lazy. More often I am still a /stealth /v.rake /ruse for all my openings. I use /beg in groups then let the tank have the aggro or start my HO macro if I am soloing.

I've bow-kited once or thrice. Mostly back when I discovered poisons at level 12 and was kiting stuff between the two towers in Antonica prior to betrayal.Bow-kited more then a few orcs in Commonlands during betrayal if I got an add that I wasn't expecting. Basically, I'd switch from melee to bow-kiting until mob #1 was dead, then start in on mob #2 at-range until I could close back into melee range and take it down.Tried to bow-kite Kidzean Gix for his key when he was green to me... died twice because he simply hits too hard at that level (or I was lacking equipment).I still did it periodically in Enchanted Lands at 30-32, especially on the advanced solo mobs. If there were two mobs, I'd bow kite the first one, then melee the 2nd one. Expensive as hell with Feyiron Hunting Arrows from the vendor. Now, for my personal ultimate in bow kiting. I think I was level 37 and doing the 4th trial of Training is a Shield. This is a 4-mob group encounter at the bottom of the mine. The mobs were all green (blue?) to me and I was supposed to have zoned in with a level 42 INQ who was going to tank for me. Alas, I clicked the door first (this is pre-fix and back when the lock-out timer was 15 hours), so I zoned in alone. There was zero option for me to zone out and try again in 15 hours (I was trying to make a deadline for a Fyst group that coming Friday night and it was a tight schedule).Took me 15-20 minutes, a full vial of poison, and a full stack of arrows... but in that tiny room, I managed to bow-kite my way to victory. That was a mad-crazy experience and I was pretty dizzy by the time I finished running in circles.
Message Edited by WuphonsReach on 04-20-2005 09:33 PM

I prefer to run it in circles and use my imbued cedar bow. We'll see who has the debt and who has the kills they were after. :smileywink:

What's all that about "self respecting?" Brigands rob people and slit their throats. They have no ethics; they do whatever it takes to get the job done. If that means running around for half an hour plucking a bow, so be it -- just so long as the dude's dead at the end and I get to take his money.
