For 30 - 40, I would say slime coated harpoon and polished granite tomahawk. These are the weapons I am using right now until I finish my SSoY (just need emperor kill) and SBD (a lot to work on for it).

20-32 Pristine Forged Steel Kris and Pristine Forged Steel Hand Axe(also carried a shield and a pristine forged steel long sword)32 - Polished Granite Tomahawk32 - Ghoulbane (maybe sooner?)At 35, I'm using a PGT + Pristine Forged Feyiron Kris. I still carry my rare steel kris/axe on the off-chance that I find a mob that is immune to pierce/slash (even green, those weapons are still better then nothing).

Slime coated harpoon and PGT work well in 30s, at 42, Serrated Bone Dirk and SSOY work nicely together for grouping and switch your SBD to PGT when soloing. At least that's my theory.

Just buy player crafted. I paid like 4 gold total for 2 pristine duel wield weaps for 30-40 and it was a LOT less aggrivation than doing any of the quests for any other weapon in that lvl range.

Currently the Serrated bone dirk is not lore. I managed to buy one prior to live update #4 and i finished the heritage last sunday so now i have two of them in my bank. Does anyone know if it's possible to dual wield two SBD's? I think i've read somewhere that it wasn't possible even though the SBD's aren't marked as lore.

I bought one before that patch as well, but after finding that out I just sold it for good profit.

The quest isn't all that difficult either once you've learned giant language. I finished mine in a weekend with maybe 4-6 hours invested including the fight to kill Octogorgon. When the PGT procs during a solo fight, it makes a big difference in how much health you end the fight with and how long you have to rest before the next battle. It also helps for when the mob turns on you accidentally (or on purpose!) in a group battle.

Ive talked to other people that were camping the giants for days without even gettin all the idols they needed. Thats not even counting not being able to find Obisd up(some ppl think he drops loot so they kill him) or not getting lucky with Tarby. I spent about 6 straight hours harvesting in TS to get my pristine granite pieces, and in all that time i didnt get a single rare, so i had to buy the Fir for 30 gold(fair price imo). Killing the skeletons and hte gnolls was a nonissue, they were so easy, but you did have to catch Obsid up.

All that hassel and aggrivation for a weapon that procs a rune/ power heal. VERY worth it for a tank taht dual wields, and pretty nice for a scout, but i can see where some scouts would just buy a pristine weapon and get back to leveling instead of messing with it.

I did my PGT in less than a weekend at level 37. The only time sink was harvesting for the rare. The few times that the PGT has saved me soloing and the amount of power you can gain during a long fight has made this weapon more than worth the hassle to me.
