<DIV>This is for all those other brigands out there than have been lying down the whole 5 or 6 seconds after you use Ruse, waiting for the feign to wear off. You dont have to, just hit the sit/stand button (x by default) and pop right back up, no more waiting and soaking up barrges. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It might have seem like old hat to some, but ive had Ruse for like 3 weeks or a month, and all that time ive been hititng it and then waiting for the feign flop thing to wear off, so just a heads up to other brigs out there. </DIV>

Huh... I had not figured that out yet (and I'm 31). I might have figured it out now that I have Craven Walk through trial-n-error (where you stay FD until you stand).Another gotcha with Ruse, don't use it to complete Ringing Blow (it seems to complete, but I don't see the RB damage appear).(Here's a few stars for ya...)

<DIV>I'm regarding sitting/standing when using Ruse to be a bug so i won't use it. If sitting/standing work with the FD portion of Craven walk i might use that instead of targeting the icon and chosing cancel though.</DIV>

Or for that matter, why you would even consider it a bug. You have feigned death and then decide to get up...press the stand button. Since you have already completed the cast time on the art, if anything the bug is the delay in Ruse actually firing off the damage. Sometimes the damage fires immediately, other times the damage takes a second or two to occur. In either case, there is nothing in the description that requires a feign death of a certain duration before the creature believes you are dead (<EM>that</EM> would suck for ALL feign death users!)<EM>.</EM></DIV> <DIV><EM></EM> </DIV> <DIV>In my opinion, Ruse works just fine. It requires you to be active to do that damage. You either get up quickly or waste valuable time (and probably take damage). Same thing with arts that drop you into stealth in combat. You either turn off autoattack, or you keep swinging and waste the stealth.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kend<BR>32 Brigand<BR>Black Talons<BR>Najena server<BR><BR><A href="http://baronken.com/files/EQ2BrigandArts.htm" target=_blank>Brigand Combat Arts upgrade paths (shared timers)</A></DIV>

If i actively cancel the skill by attacking a critter (or looting a resource node) the FD portion stays active. The fact that you stand up faster if the critter manages to hit you could be either a feature or a bug. In this case i'd consider it a feature. sit canceling fd is not a bug, if you dont want to use it and are fast enough you can cancel the fd of ruse just like any other "buffs" on your buffbar, the fd of craven included, but pushing sit is a little easier...

Why do that? I mean I just hit Ruse.. then Gouge or some other attack. I pop right up and keep fighting.

<DIV>It's not a bug IMO, but they will nerf it. Rest assured, they will.</DIV>

Hitting the sit/stand key (x key for those that didn't know) immediately cancels the ruse effect and lets you start attacking.

<DIV>As Dtrick said Kanro, Sit/Stand does really increase the speed of how you pull of the sequence of events. When you become good at it, you will not even fall to the ground, basically, it will look to you like you just pulled off a big hit and keep going with your arms waving. Others in the group see you fall to the ground, but you never do on your end and attacks keep goign full speed, without delay. I used to be skeptical of it long ago as well so all I can say is that you should practice it.</DIV>

the fact is there's a different "timer" on the ruse feigned motion when grouped than when soloing. Maybe im alone with it, but i doubt it Solo : i can hit ruse and queue any other skill right after, it will be on time NP. But when grouping i need to sit/stand or ill stay on the ground for an easy 5 secs <div></div>

<DIV>Ruse is now fixed on the live servers with this mornings patch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I only tested it solo, but it appears to now fire instantly, and each and every time. Sit/Stand is no longer a problem.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Actually seems to work better to me then it used to....but I have not tested this in any groups yet.</DIV>

True there is sometimes a delay when using an attack to spring you up from ruse, but there is no delay when starting the HO from the ground. I usually start ruse with gouge to make sure I am in front and pick up a little aggro (although aggro is no longer neccessary). There might be a fun macro here somewhere: Gouge, ruse, HO starter or just ruse, Ho part 1, HO part 2 and you will be standing ready to coin flip if you want a different effect before finishing the HO.

I always make sure to debuff first using Knockaround (lower AGI by 10, lower defense by 5) then Vicious Stab (lower defense by 3) before I use my Ruse in a solo fight.Don't even know if Knockaround stacks with Vicious stab, but it's all part of my opening HO anyway. My thinking is that by dropping the mob's defenses by 5-8 points, I'll get a higher damage out of Ruse.
