View Full Version : More information on uselessness of upgrading

<DIV>These 2 example should give further proof that Sony really needs to look at the usefulness of upgrading skills:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Someone in my guild got Run Through Master 1 this weekend and gave it to me since I'm the only brigand in guild. From app4 my skills increased from 17 str debuff to 18 str debuff, 20% slow stayed the same, increased the 1 tick piercing dot by 3 and initial by 5, and the dmg went up roughly +60 to min/max. So, I basically upgraded 5 skill lvls with a super rare master spell and I got an upgrade that is not even noticeable at lvl 50.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. I decided to upgrade debilitate from app1 to app4 to see what the increase was and decide if I wanted to make it adept 3. Before it was 19 dmg and the 1618-36xx or whatever the debuff is exactly. After app4 it is now 20dmg and the same exact debuff. I went up 3 skill lvls and got 1 whole damage omg! The debuff did not change at all which is the point of the skill...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S. In class currently so didn't have the exact numbers but you can see the point, whats the point of spending money on upgrading these skills when they don't even improve.</DIV>

upgrading Debilitate, i think, only makes it so that it will stick longer on the mob.... by sticking longer means... the time the spell stays on the mob will be closer to the duration listed u see when u examine the art............................

<DIV>Yeah the duration was 1:12 at app1 also, because theres no maintained icon for it in the spell window its hard to tell exactly how long of the 1:12 it lasts though. I know about the growth and that its a lvl 49 spell but the problem with this is that alot of people are complaing that T5 adept 3's don't do much because of this. They need to work somethign out so were still getting a decent upgrade at high lvl skills when we upgrade to adept3s and masters.</DIV>

It has a knockdown effect that is almost guaranteed now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In my opinion, while I wouldn't spend tons of money on upgrades (App IV, Adept 3, & Master 1), if can get them cheap or "guild gifted" to me I will definitely scribe them. I believe SOE will get problems sorted out between tiers of combat arts & spells, and those of us with the upgrades already will be the first to take advantage of the fix.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I also picked up Master 1 Run Through (which will require a few levels before I can scribe) and Master 1 Plead for Mercy, I will test Plead for Mercy and let you know if see any difference.</DIV>

<DIV>i got 3 master1 T5 skills now, Rash Advance master sucks, Shadow Slip maste only thing in description is lvl 55 stealth instead of 52 and costs a bit more power, and lowers my aggro by 2 places as before so seems to still be it's usual self ;p and Lurk Master 1 it's worth having ;p lvl 55 stealth FD works on mobs 46 < now according to description, but can FD off lvl 55's same for adept 1 though havne't been anywhere to test iv lvl 55 stealth is doin any better than lvl 52 ;p </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
