<DIV>Well im looking for a way to avoid having my damage parsed while fighting. I had several bad experiences with that and was wondering if that could be done.</DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV>

<DIV>There's no way to avoid someone parsing your damage, since they're just reading what you do off their client.  Most people will not post parses however if you ask them.</DIV>

<DIV>Thats not really the problem of getting the message broadcasted but more the reaction of people seeing the parsing and whining for one reason or another without taking into account diff in level, gear used and level of abilities.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I could put those people on ignore but kinda hard to keep grouping with them after this</DIV>

It's hard to quantify the value of reducing a target's AC by 1500 or reducing it's defense by 2-4 levels. The Brigands role, given the arts they get, certainly has a significant debuff component, as well as stunning. If people complain about debuffs or stuns vs. damage, I would point them to these forums and offer them the friendly advice to acquire knowledge about a topic before claiming to know everything about it. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<P>Out of curiosity...what kind of bad experiences have you had?</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>The assassin crying out loud, in /g, in /ooc and in tells that there was no way i should out DPS him all the time by a fair margin. Thing is i was 1 level then 2 levels above him (he was 30 i was 31 then 32 a tad later), all my combat arts are Adept1 or better and i spend quite a lot in gear. But to him those werent sufficient reasons</DIV><p>Message Edited by Eris on <span class=date_text>03-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:50 PM</span>

<DIV>i think it is not a case of parsing, its more the case of a lame whiner</DIV> <DIV>the fact that many assassins happen to be one, is merely based on the kind of player who choses that class as an uber-wannabe, but these are the same kind of players that now roll up a wizzy to get ice comet and then cry about warlock dps owning them, there is no solution for them</DIV>

<DIV>Thing is i cant change a player but i hoped that maybe i could "stealth" the damage output so i could avoid this situation altogether.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>On Guk, it is a known fact that we are even matched with Assassins at a bare minimum and if well equipped, we outclass them in damage/DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>No need to hide it. Still, parsing the damage number in a channel that requires active participation is better than doing it in groupchat.</DIV>

<DIV>I know my DPS takes a big jump when i group with assassins because they have some kinda pierce debuff so not only are they gettin the benifit of that, but so are we. Maybe this will change later when/if we get some kinda piercing debuff, but at 31 we sure dont. </DIV>

<DIV>Without checking my character I know Aggressive Assault (replacement for Vicious Flurry) has a piercing debuff. I think there is one other we have that does too but, I can't remember for sure at the moment.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The complaints come with the territory. I know that Warlocks have gotten parse crazy lately. When I was 39, there was a 41 Warlock in the group in Rivervale and he was just parsing every damned fight to show how he was doing more damage. He should with 2 levels in hand and multiple mob group encounters. Got very tiring. I never beat people over the head with my parses. I barely ever post them unless someone is bragging about what they think they are doing. </DIV>

<DIV>I think it has a timer. I don't believe it has anything to do with the 2 melee damages. I haven't paid attention in the maintained window to even see if it shows up. My complaint with it is that the level 30  upgrade triple hit attack (over Vicious Flurry) it replaced is better since damage is the same but 3 attacks. Basically, if you chose that upgrade, you are now giving up 1 of the attack hits for that piercing debuff. Not sure I'm crazy about that.</DIV>

Had my first run-in with a 'parser' the other night. I was amused... as a 30 brigand, I was doing some serious out-damaging over the 29 assassin. Some reasons that I can think of:- level 30 poison (a lot of assassins don't use poison)- 1 level higher- wielding rare metal t2 bladesThe person doing the parsing was asked to stop after a few fights (and did). I couldn't convince them to start up a chat channel.

The arguement is just that for an upgrade of a skill, it's not much of a improvement giving up a measure of damage for piercing resist debuff that there is no way to accruately measure it's effectiveness. I can imagine that when the Upgrade triple attack grays out that it will be resisted more. At that point, you don't even have the option to use both. I notice it missing quite a bit already with a hit or two.</DIV>
