Just wondering if Bushwhack is a good skill? I think it is a 35 skill and I see a Master 1 for sale by the broker right now for ~65 gold.Seems like alot but I tend to notice most 30+ Master 1's going for ~1 platinumThanks!

At 37 with adept 1 my bushwhack is hitting for about 250+. I would imagine that the Master version of the skill would hit for about 400+. It is a nice skill to use in conjunction with the 1 second swift sneak. You won't replace the skill until level 49, so if you buy it you would probably get a lot of use out of it.

My friend has Master 1 of Bushwack and it does do high 300s to low 400. I the use the Adept 1 pretty often myself and hit for the same numbers Dtrick mentioned.

I love using it the most after hitting Lie Low. It does between 340 - 460 most of the time (400s are usually in grp). When I picked it up it was going for 25gold and I figured it was worth trying at that price, and since we have it for so long.

I've never seen Ruse up, and only seen Shiv once. Usually the masters I see up are for something like circular strike or fancy footwork at some crazy price (not worth more then 10gp IMO).

Doxer

44 Brigand

Mistmoore

Bushwack, seems likes a good skill. I hope you bought that master. If not make a adept3.

I use Buschwack Master1 as well and does rarely something close to 400, mostly 350s at lvl45.Besides all that you can use the skill from any position and 17% slow effect is very nice imo.

I just got this skill (Appr1)... I have to confess that I'm not all that taken with it.The 17% snare seems a bit... worthless. I wish they'd change that to an 8% melee slow or maybe a power drain. Is the STR debuff and damage really worth it for the 53 power in a group? About the only time I can see myself using this is when I have to toss a Lie Low to drop my hate and slip into invis (then I'm already positioned to use Bushwhack).

its a slow not a snare
In all the Brigand combat arts, "Slow" refers to movement rate. There are combat arts that slow the attack speed, and they are specific. For example:Which shows a snare of 17%, similar to:Which shows a slow of 72%. Whereas..shows an attack speed slow of 5%.and finally, both on the same art!
Message Edited by agra on 03-24-2005 07:58 AM

terahak wrote:
its a slow not a snare

Its a snare from the in-game description. The text, when you examine it, says :

A high damage stealth attack that snare the enemy and reduces strength. At the bottom of this, it says

Inflicts xxx - xxx melee dmg on target

decreases STR by X

Slows target by X%

you might think that the SLOW there, means a melee slow, but if you look at Snarl , for example, youll see that it says

Slows Target encounter by X%

So obviously the "slow" means movement speed.

terahak wrote:its a slow not a snare

So the description is just wrong?Looking at my (4) skills that seem to be snares:Tie Up (our single-target movement snare).Decreases enemy movement speed at a lessened chance to break.- Slows target by 35%Snarl (our encounter movement snare)Decrease movement speed of a group of linked creaters.- Slows target encounter by 35%Tangling Strike (requires stealth)A high damage stealth attack that snares the enemy.- Inflict 170-284 melee damage on target- Slows target by 14%Bushwhack (requires stealth, upgrade to Tangling Strike)A high damage stealth attack that snares the enemy and reduces strength.- Inflict 163-272 melee damage on target.- Decrease STR of target by 11.- Slows target by 17%So, based on what I'm reading in the spell descriptions, the only way I would think that TS/Bushwhack is a melee slow is through parsing. TS/Bushwhack use the exact same language for their 'slow target' detail as our movement snares. As opposed to:Disarming TargetA quick attack that knocks down the enemy and slows attack speed.- Inflict 91-152 crushing damage on target- Decrease Attack Speed of target by 5%Which definitely looks like a melee debuff in comparison.

The descriptions differentiate between Slow (rate of movement debuff - think snare/ensnare in EQ Live where how fast something can run or walk towards you is greatly affected/decreased) and Decrease Attack Speed (attack speed debuff - synonymous with the word "slow" in EQ Live, where how quickly something can swing/attack you is greatly affected/decreased).

Bushwack does 280-450 damage for me, and with fast refresh it is definitely worth keeping scribed - ESPECIALLY if you have the Quick Sneak training power that has 1 second cast time to use in conjunction with Bushwack.

I still don't think Snare belongs on Bushwhack / Tangling Strike... and have /bug reported it. It *is* a nice damage spell, and the STR debuff is nice... I just have a personal objection to having it snare the target (for less then our regular 35% snare). Also put in a /bug for Tangling Strike.

So how good is the upgrade, Run Through? This is the one master I I've been lucky enough to get for my brigand. I hope it's a real upgrade and not one of those non-scaling "same as level 20s" skills. Does the str debuff scale up? I really like to have these debuffs for those tough mob encounters.
