<DIV>Hello all</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I read a lot of posts but dont usually post myself; however, I did not play the last couple days ( today is 2005/02/04 -0330 hrs EST), and i have noticed</DIV> <DIV>many changes to my favorite class namely the Brigand. I have 6 other characters i play from various classes but I have found the brigand most fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I logged on and played for an hour and noticed something was amiss with Ruse. I checked the forums and my worst fears were confirmed - NERF.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Although this is annoying and not unexpected, its the other changes i have read about to the scout class in general that have me concerned.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I played eq1 and played a rogue, a tough class to play and virtually useless as a solo class. I was happy with EQ2 as one could effectively solo with a scout class if not as well as other classes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From what i have read tonight I am quite sure that is no longer possible. I dont fully comprehend the thought process of destroying a playable class, to one </DIV> <DIV>that is now in fact useless.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Issues I have read.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Unable to Solo - light blue mobs taking a scout class to 20 - 30 % - health ( when other classes are able to walk thru the same mob ) ie Inquisitor ( 2 lvls lower )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ruse - dmg decrease, aggro req'd to work, mobs casting spells on brigand and not hitting ( thus no ruse ).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Missing " thunk " now a problem</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Track - not working at all</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I understand other scout sub classes have their issues as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am not sure what SOE intended the role of the scout classes to be, but in my humble opinon, Fighters attract the mobs and hold aggro, so the sidekicks ( scouts ) can attack the flanks and deal out major dmg. The tank has the Health to withstand the attacks, and deal dmg, but the scout types who specialize in directional attacks, deal more dmg, but have less health, thus not being able to tank.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It seems that SOE's approach has been to strip the scout classes of the very thing that makes them what they are. Like taking healing spells from a preist class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I do not know what the logic is, however; if the scout classes become like those in eq1, which it seems we are heading that way quickly, they will not be played, and since my favorite type of class is the scout class i will not be palying eq2.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I hope that SOE revisits the changes they have made, as i cannot count the times i have told friends, that EQ2 is great, and finally the scouts classes are a playable class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont think with the current changes i can honestly say that anymore.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I certainly hope, that SOE pays attention to these messages, as many people who have invested a lot of time and effort into a character, have logged on to find that, that character is a shadow of it's former self, and not worth playing. This is very frustrating and takes the fun from the game. If you need to fix a class, bring that class up, dont fix it by tearing another class down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These are just my thoughts. Please do not ruin the fun of the scout classes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thx for your time</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Scotso1</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>24 Brigand ( Athlandar ), 24th Inq ( Zarah), 20th Guardian ( Mogwar) , 20th Monk (Anwyn), 20 Wizard ( Rosland) , 12th Enchanter ( Seldarra) 10th Crusader ( Gromulk )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I agree.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SOE needs to communicate more with their customers. Mages and Scouts are going through a lot of crap and we're not getting any real reason as to why we have to endure this. As of right now, I see no light at the end of the tunnel. But hopefully it's because there will be an unexpected sharp turn in the right direction.</DIV>

I played a Master Carbineer/Master Creature Handler in SWG. I played the carbineer because I liked being unique and no one played this class. I wanted to make a Brigand because I love the rogue class (played one in EQ1) and I loved the fact that we were not dime a dozen. The carbineer class in SWG stayed broken for 5 months after launch. I finally gave up, went commando, then shortly quit after 6 months of playing the game. The fixes and changes in that game were a complete joke. All they did was over power one class each month and made them the flavor of the month. After quitting SWG I swore to myself that I would not play another sony MMO. I then got the opportunity to beta test both WoW and EQ2. WoW was just to easy to me and I didn't feel emersed into the cartoon world. EQ2 grabbed me, I loved the absolute stunning graphics, I enjoyed the quests, I enjoyed playing the game, therefore I chose it over WoW.</P> <P>SOE stealth nerfing Ruse and making no mention of it in patch notes and no explanation to us as to why, is just bringing back the really bad taste in my mouth that I got from SWG. It is just downright poor customer service. We pay for their game and as customers we deserve the right to be notified of all the changes that are made and the future decisions of where the game is going. This way we can make decisions to continue to pay for their product.</FONT></P>

<DIV> I had said yesterday that I didn't notice any difference in Ruse the night before, that was until I got on and tested last night. Geez, it is screwed. It misses more then half the time, you have to be hit to go off and it was weakened immensely. I could hande if they just dropped damage, but what they did is just crazy. It's almost useless now and I'd like the 18g I spent on my Adept 3 back. What is it with stealth nerfing everything? We have problems like Craven Walk being broken for weeks and they spend time breaking our Ruse instead of fixing the problems. It's really getting tiring.</DIV> <DIV> It's very nice of them to destroy our parry ability now at the same time too. Now not only can we not avoid being hit, we can't hit back nearly as hard. I'm a fairly easy person to keep happy with my gaming because I expect changes but this last patch has really turned me off to the game. I hope these are fixed soon because the way it's playing right now I will lsoe interest just like I did with EQ1. I ahte to say that because up until this patch I loved the game and put up with everything else. Between the Scout nerfs and armoring problems, it's just getting tedious.</DIV>
