Instead of stealth nerfing the brigand ability RUSE/... you guys should have fixed Craven Walk / Lurk which is broken since last big patch!!!Now ruse is almost useless! I have the Master skill for ruse and now I hit less then when i got it at 22 and was apprentice 1! You nerf our only strong attack!!! How many strong attacks assassins have? How can an assassin do a 6k damage attack (look at eq2 players!!) How can we finally compete with assassins on damage when you guys nerf our only strong attack!!! This is lame and [Removed for Content] lots of brigand!Although, thx for fixing the part where it didnt count for our own damage... not it counts... but the damage sucks! <DIV>No there is some merit to this. Today, February 3rd, 2005, ruse is much different than it was yesterday. Today I have to have aggro for it to work AT ALL, and even then it only does 300-400 damage. Yesterday the only requirement was that I needed to be in front of the mob with it targeted for ruse to work. Not the case today at all.</DIV>

Granted the discrption says that the enemy has to hit you to activate Ruse, however, thats just stupid. I tried over and over to steal aggro from our main tank so I could land a watered down Ruse and wasn't sucessful once. Either ruse should work and not require me to be hit, or it should work as an uber taunt and then let the tank pull the enemy off me. As is, i'm not wasting any more time with my brigand.I'm making a mage, I refuse to play an assassin and that leaves me stuck with a bunch of cry baby finger waggling nancys. Thanks SoE. /No I don't expect respect, I keep paying cash to play a bug filled mmo, but c'mon. Are you happy being so sadistic?

<DIV>Seriously, I wish I could un-learn my adept 3 ruse/self preservation, strip the scrolls down and get the jasper/coral back so I can put them to better use. I should probably play a necro because from what I hear they're relatively weak and they should be getting some dev attention soon or something. Oh well, two weeks and about 40 gold wasted on a useless brigand..</DIV>

If you're going to be a mage, be an enchanter, otherwise, you might as well stick with Brigand. With these nerf, we're still doing better damage than Swashbucklers and Rangers... and of course Dirges and Troubadors.

<DIV>From what I've read, sorcerers are in line for some big boosts - according to sony they should be doing the most damage at the higher levels in most situations. I can't remember where I read it, but it was what one of the dev's posted..</DIV>

<DIV>I know you meant bruiser I just forgot to mention it. Somehow every single level 20-21 brusier ALWAYS has at least 400-500 AC more than me. I normally have about 200-300 more than decently equipped guardians, berserkers and shadowknights.. I don't know how the bruisers have so high AC, it's not their agility either because they normally only have 50-60 whereas I have around 95-100 self buffed..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I would probably end up tanking with a bruiser if I play one anyway..</DIV>

<DIV>For the record:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>Pre-nerf Ruse </U></STRONG>was (something like) unqualified (didn't take AC, parrying, blocking, etc into consideration) damage that always hit without requiring that you were hit (by melee) and it was "extreme" damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>Nerfed Ruse </U></STRONG>is a combat art that only lands less than half the time, does about 40-50% less damage, and never lands if you don't have aggro and won't work unless you get hit by melee. Now that it is qualified damage, it builds aggro. So if the point as a DPS class is not to catch aggro while dishing out damage, why change a power to something that <STRONG>only </STRONG>works if you DO have aggro (which a DPS class shouldnt get) - when if the power goes off, it hits for 600-1000 damage and INCREASES aggro. Also, since enemy spell caster damage is magic and not melee damage, when using Ruse against them, they get to charbroil your [Removed for Content] while you take a nap on the ground - and Ruse will never fire off. And since you need aggro, it doesn't work in a group setting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am hoping that since the negative change was not announced in patch or update notes, this drastic change was not intended. That being said, the fact that it HAS been changed to something that shouldn't even be on your hotkey bar and NOTHING has been said by a SOE representative is <STRONG>unconscionable.</STRONG><BR></DIV>

<DIV> I'm leaning toward what Crik is saying. Nothing was said in the notes about this kind of ability reduction. I hope that it came out worse then they thought and will fix it soon. I can udnerstand and accept if they lower the damage a little. I can MAYBE understand having to have agro to use the ability. I can't understand those and missing half the time while being beaten to death while I lie on the ground. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Starting my own petition to get my 18g for my Adept 3 back since the skill doesn't do anything now. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Add that to Maddening shot being either mislabeled or broken for other ranged weapons, craven walk being broken for weeks, tracking being busted and the rest...ughhhh.</DIV>

Yeah, speaking of ranged weapon problems (regarding maddening shot only working with a bow) how about no 37m range weapons other than the long bow? Why are there no containers for throwing weapons that are greater range, but less damage? short/longbow exists, why not light/heavy throwing knives?

I am hoping that since the negative change was not announced in patch or update notes, this drastic change was not intended. That being said, the fact that it HAS been changed to something that shouldn't even be on your hotkey bar and NOTHING has been said by a SOE representative is unconscionable.Very well said in deed. I completely agree with your analysis and also hope that this was a mistake rather than an intended change. Vlademir
