<DIV>I just got Maddening Shot last night. I recently switched to a high level player made sheath for the stats, so I haven't tried testing with a bow. I do know it doesn't work with throwing knives. It says you need a bow if you attempt to use it. If you examine the description it says that you simply need a rnaged weapon. Any idea if this is supposed to only work on a bow?</DIV><p>Message Edited by Kegofbud on <span class=date_text>01-26-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:35 AM</span>

<DIV>Not an answer to your question. How do sheath stats compare to bow stats? I am currently using an Oakwood Long Bow (150skill 49-125 dmg 7.0 delay 4int 3agi 6str 5wis 31health and 35power). Only thing I hate about this bow is the long delay. This bow drops off of Impaler Wasps in EL. I saw 4 drop in 1 night hunting them.</DIV>

<DIV>Well, I'd say that bow is a little nicer unless you are looking for AGI. I haven't seen that drop off the wasp yet but I'll be sure to keep one if I do. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pristine Tailered Etched Sheath - Skill 150</DIV> <DIV>Base Damage on EQ Items says 19-38 but it's plenty higher equipped obviously, it's the 4.5 delay at 27m</DIV> <DIV>+7 Agi, +3 Str, +23 Health, +21 Power</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd love to get the bow you mentioned but I haven't seen it before or anything as good as the sheath lately for sale. The bow I keep seeing out there is the Stormfire, I think. The cheapest price on that is 50g and I won't pay that. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Hopefully something else pops up if I don't get the Oak one dropped soon. I'd like to use the new skill and I don't care how it's supposed to work, just wondering if I should avoid worrying about it and get a new bow and lose the Agi.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>If you are worried about agi, you can always pick up 2 Feysteel Hand Axes at level 33. They have 8agi and i believe 26power on them (got to double check when I log in tonight). I picked mine up for about 1g each on the black market.</DIV>

Personally, I think it is bugged. I too received the message about a bow being required when I tried using my daggers, but I was able to get this Bow: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=10037 after I completed my Deathfist Citadel access in Zek.

<DIV> Well I like the Agility but I don't base my entire wishlist off of it, just kind of a nice icing on the cake. I gave up the sheath and bought an Oakwood Shortbow. The stats are nice, similar to your longbow version. <A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=10489" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=10489</A> I guess I'll try workign with Maddening Shot again tonight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> My current weapon I duel wield has high Agility on it as well, the Scalpel of Rikantus: <A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=18151" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=18151</A> They have the 1.2 delay I like so much and high Agi. I'll definitely check out the fey weapons you mentioned though. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now that I see the Sureshot, I wouldn't mind having that either. Maybe I'll get going more on that quest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Kegofbud on <span class=date_text>01-27-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:45 AM</span>

I haven't incorporated into my combat sequence yet. My Ranged skill is very low still, and I tend to miss a lot.

Anyone shed some light on why the difference in damage between thrown weapons and bows is so huge? The stats on the bows suggest they should be doing far more than they do.Even though my ranged, thrown and bow skills are all the same I get better results from green con sheaths and bandoleers than up to date bows.

<DIV>Maddening shot does awesome damage for me at 36. If I have poison on, then it can do 300-500 in one use, once you add up the poison damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's good to lie low afterwards though.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The damage on ranged weapons is capped if you have crappy components, like arrows. Feyiron arrows get close to the max I think.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
