View Full Version : Name one skill that doesn't work EXCACTLY how the description says
COme on brigands, i'm a lvl 50 swashbuckler and I have entire series of spells that don't work ever since the start of the series.Try me, cause I have skills that say increase STR and AGI that increase STA and AGI (yes its that bad)You guys shouldn't be complaining....you guys get to FD when something breaks yer sneak. When something breaks my sneak I am supposed to mezz the target and get my STR increased (doesn't do that either).They even fixed some of your skills last patchSOme tell me, what doesn't work right? I am not talking "doesn't stun long enough" and "not enough damage" I am talking series debuffs and or an attack not DoTing when it says it does. I have an AoE ability that says "a precise very high damage AoE attack" that does the same damage it did in the 30's. My lvl 48 AoE says "an AoE attack". Nothing about high damage. Yet it does x2 of what the very precise high damage attack does. They both miss the same if not the very precise one missing more.I have lines that say they stun and don't stunI have lines that say they knockdown....which knockdown is a joke as it doesn't prevent movement or casting or attacking. Good sir/madam pls troll elsewhere ... looking over the weeks worth of posts on the first page of the brigand forum apart from this thread none of them fit the category of us complaining (that would probably require alot more ppl to post and all) and I actually wouldn't mind keeping it that way because shock horror I find the brigand forum useful!one of the "fluff" arts is a shapeshift ability (we have a list of all skills around here somewhere just can't be bothered looking it up).

We have lines that say they stun but they don't.We have lines that say they debuff X but without an icon and no /duel command, there's no way to tell if they're working.We have lines that say they knockdown but knockdown is joke.We have an attack that says it DoTs but doesn't. All I remember from the patch was that Craven Walk was even more broken. Oh, Sap's positional requirement (not mentioned in its description) was removed IIRC. Didn't make the patch notes though. In the meantime we have: Run Through, which allegedly deals piercing damage over time. It actually does an additional 29 points immediately after it hits. Guess they mean additional damage over a REALLY SHORT period of time. Our other attacks which have DoT effects last for 3 full ticks and 1 partial (that first one does less damage). Conclusion: Bugged.Craven Walk/Lurk: FD when Brig gets hit. It actually does nothing at all now when the Brig gets hit. Conclusion: Currently broken.Rake/Vicious Rake/Murderous Rake: attack that lowers target's agility. With no icon on our screen, no way to tell if it works or if the upgrades are actually upgrades. Conclusion: Bugged.Concealed Blade: Knockdown, reduces wisdom, attack speed debuff. Leaves no icon in maintained spells so no way to know if it's working or not. Conclusion: Bugged.Waylay: Oh, HERE'S a good one. Medium chance to stun, briefly reduces enemy defense. I know that the debuff on this one isn't working, because it currently causes those effects to take place on...the Brigand who used it! That's right, I get a debuff icon in my effects window along with the buffs I get from other party members. I haven't noticed my defense drop, and although I often get the little woozy stun animation, my log seems to indicate that I'm still swinging. It's okay damage though so I use it anyway. Conclusion: Broken.Craven Delight: Back positional, and supposed to 'increase the damage of the brigand'. Ok, so how is blacking out my Hidden Shiv timer increasing my damage? This art doesn't affect stats at all, and is in fact a DoT attack that's a direct 'upgrade' to the level 24 Hidden Shiv. Problem is that Hidden Shiv does more up front damage, and more DoT damage. Conclusion: Pretty [Removed for Content].Gambit/Bum Rush: Supposed to decrease defense, interrupt and chance to stun. Does not leave icon. Defense decrease unnoticable and cannot be tested with no duel command. Stun? SMAAALLLLLL chance to stun. And, like all our other stuns, it ain't a stun it's a miniscule duration mez. BTW, I still don't use Gambit-Bum Rush master 1 does more damage. Conclusion: Bugged.I'm sure you'll dismiss my post because I'm not level 50, I'm only *gasp* 49. If he is already 50 this soon into the game why doesn't he spend less time whining and more time getting another char to 50 in mommies basement ^_^ Go have her make you a sammich and shut up and play. Nobody here cares that your goody two shoes wannabe brigand is broken. You want a non broken MMO ? They don't exist. Especially this new.

Honestly, someone getting the message that rake can't take hold (or whatever it was) doesn't mean that the ability is working. It means that the mob got flagged with an effect that can't be overwritten. That in itself isn't proof that the Rake ability that we get is actually debuffing a mob's agility. Mobs get the ability too but it's obviously on a faster timer and can be fired at any position. We also have no way to know if our upgrades actually debuff for more-because we don't get an icon. (This is actually a problem with ALL our debuffs-we have no way to see the value that is getting debuffs, and thus no way to know if the upgrade actually...is.)There really needs to be some sort of arena or duel command so that things like debuffs can be tested.Akurei, that's the icon for Murderous Rake IIRC; though I remember mobs using Rake on me and it had the same icon as Vicious Rake.Hmmm I notice whine-boy hasn't been back. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by Sinadial on <span class=date_text>01-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:16 AM</span>

An even better trick with Rake (go attack a lancer wasp in EL if you want to see this) is when the NPC uses it, not only can they use it from the front, they can also use it from ~40m away! First thing those damned wasps do is Rake you immediately after you aggro them. It's a good tactic, it's just freaking unfair. At least make it so the have to be in melee range.Although now that I say that, I wish all the icons that placed DoT's and effects on creatures had icons in the Maintained Spells window. They simply do not, at the moment. Maybe they'll fix them, maybe they won't? who knows. I find it hard to believe, though, that having <b>some</b> of the effects show up and not others has to be a bug.
