Hey guys, I'm a 22 brigand and am having great difficulty using a stun and being able to run to the side/back and get off rear/flank attack. Can anyone give some tips on how you guys have been managing? It seems every time I try I end up not facing the enemy and am not able to turn my toon in time before the stun wears off. Thanks again!Rang Rang, Lucan D'Lere

<DIV>don't forget to turn off auto attack before stunning, after that the best way is to jump over the mob, it gets you right behind it</DIV>

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Once you use a stun power/combat art, your enemy is stunned for several seconds ONLY if you don't hit it again during that short time span. So the other poster was implying that you should use a stun power, then immediately turn off auto-attack, strafe around back/behind the target, then fire off a positional attack.</DIV>

<DIV>For example, push Cheap Shot to stun enemy. While a meter for Cheap Shot is going down, push ` key to stop attacking. Once Cheap Shot lands on mob, push W and E key to move side of mob or push W and SPACE key to jump to behind of mob. Then, just push your Hidden Shiv, Backstab, Sneak Attack, anything you want. You don't need to turn to mob normally. You will turn to them automatically when you use those arts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Once you get familier to these moves, you can do the same thing with more short period stun arts like Blackjack.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On the other hand, there is a bug that mob looks like turn around to you although they are stuned. If you wait few seconds, mob looks the direction when they were stuned. However, short period stun takes off less than few seconds. So, you just need to turn off attack and move to the side or behind of mob when your stunning arts land on them. It's little bit tricky. My suggestion is to play with Cheap Shot and become familier with these moves first.</DIV>

The mob doesn't actually turn, it's just a problem with the server/client updating process.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Basically, when you use a stun attack, remember where you were when it landed and then run to the opposite side of the mob to use your backstab attack. If it looks like the mob is still drifting around to face you, ignore it. That's just your client not updating positions correctly. Jumping over the mob works, as does running alongside and strafing over slightly - pick whatever controls work best for you. Flying mobs are very easy to do this to as you can just run straight under them and slam your rear-arc attack skill key repeatedly until it goes off.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, remember that we have stuns other than cheap shot. You should be able to get a fast flanking attack off in combo with blackjack as well once you get used to the controls. Cheap shot -> hidden shiv, blackjack -> shank works great for me. Distracting blade works with blackjack as well, but it can be tough to squeeze in before the stun wears off.</DIV>

Any other time the mob definately does turn while stunned. I thought that it was what you described above because I remember the same thing happening in DAoC but when I go ahead and try to perform the flanking style it says that I must be behind or to the side... yadda yadda when I'm clearly standing on teh opposite side of where I was when I stunned the mob.</FONT></DIV> <DIV></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>To me it seems like it will only work if I have not done any physical damage to the mob yet. That doesn't really make sense to me but that's how it seems.</FONT></DIV>

I am a macro nut, so I came up with a macro similiar to what I have listed below.Something like this will work for you.:;toggleautoattack; usea cheap shotAt this point, you can walk through the mob or jump over him, you do not need to be facing him to launch a special - you will automatically turn to face the mob when you execute.
<DIV>I set off cheap shot, I hold until it's about 1/2 cast, then hit my attack and wait for Cheap shot to land. I arrow ahead to shoulder past the mob. Maybe because I play a barb, I can get away with just hip-checking past the mob, and it won't work for smaller races, I'm not sure.... I'd see a ratonga scooting between it's legs to get behind rather than just brute shoving past, and then nail Locke's Careless Sideswipe. As long as you get beyond it a bit, you'll set off. Follow with macro'd HO, and macro'd Bludgeon/Gouge, and you've just knocked a lot of HP offa something that might hurt you bad....</DIV> <DIV>and pull with a poison on and Strangling Shot hooked to Street Smarts as a macro. This combo takes blues down almost as fast as Snoop takes to refresh, so you can nail it, inspect the corpse whilst you scan for your next tango partner. Soloing is real easy, and take chest droppers down, and you can get a bunch of chest skillups.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So to answer the OP, I just bumrush the stunned mob.</DIV>

<DIV>Another thing I don't think that has been mentioned is the use of poison. If you have a dot going on the mob and you stun the mob, the poison might be doing damage to the mob and breaking the stun. At least I've had that problem a few times. So hitting your cheap shot/blackjack button right AFTER the dot processes is probably a good idea.</DIV>
