I can't seem to figure out how to use ruse in groups..

<DIV>you dont need to get hit its just a badly written description you just need to maintain a forward posistion on the mob.  Stand directly behind the main tank and use it if you are having problems. u can be miles away as long as you are INFRONT of the mob it will go off</DIV>

I still think you need to get hit for the effect to go off. Sometimes in a group I will just lay there for 10 seconds or so and I dont think I get the surprise attack damage. The tough part is in a group i always have SELF-PRESERVATION on, so it is not easy to steal aggro.In a group where I am the main dps and I want to do as much dps as possible, I pull with STRANGLE SHOT, then GOUGE to add hate and get their attention, then hit the RUSE for the big damage. When I go down, the MT knows to take the aggro and thge healer can take care of me and then switch to MT. The I fall into a standard backstabber role.This is has been very successful in TS giant groups from lvl 22-25.

You DO NOT NEED to get hit for the damage to go off. I use Ruse pretty much every time the timer is available, and I very, very rarely, if ever, get hit during the course of a night's hunting. Make a separate chat window and enable 'Others' hits' if you want to reliably see the surprise blow damage.If you're actively trying to grab aggro because you think you need it for Ruse to work, you're needlessly using up your healer's power.
