<DIV>Brigands are known for high dps and group invis. And for falling on their face and doing over 1k damage.</DIV>

<DIV>I saw someone one put it this way...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bards = Low Damage / High Utility</DIV> <DIV>Rogues = Medium Damage / Medium Utility</DIV> <DIV>Predators = High Damage / Low Utility</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sounds about right to me...</DIV>

Sorry but that generalization is wrong. Bards dont do low damage, they do medium damage (at least dirges). Rogues dont do medium damage, they do high damage... I mean if you wanna generalize. Brigands and assassins do about the same damage, their damage is just done differently.

<DIV> <DIV>"Bards = Low Damage / High Utility</DIV> <DIV>Rogues = Medium Damage / Medium Utility</DIV> <DIV>Predators = High Damage / Low Utility"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aye i'd have to agree with the former poster. I think a more accurate descrip would read: </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV>Bards = Medium Damage / High Utility</DIV> <DIV>Rogues = High Damage / Medium Utility</DIV> <DIV>Predators = High Damage / Low Utility</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have seen bards in action and while they do not damage as highly as rogues or preds they do do some nice dps. Between swashys and brigs, i'd say brigs do more on the damage side while swashys are a bit more successful at tanking when needed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would say the same is true of rangers vs assasins.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rangers and swashys seem to be a bit more versitile and a bit less damaging then brigs and assasins.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As a brig in a group with an assasin, either class is more then capable of stealing agro from the tank. It is never one sided in either direction.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I really do not understand how anyone who has played or played with a brigand can consider them to be any less then massive damage dealers. Having played both an assasin in beta and a brigand in release I can honestly say no other mele classes = the damage out put of these 2 classes, the mitigation and strategies are simply different. A brigand attacks more like a phiranna with many fast attacks and an occasional chomp(ruse), where as assasins are more like sharks with some slower but larger bites followed up by phiranna nibbles. Overall DPS is very similar, mitigation and delivery is done differently.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On a different note, people need to find a common ground on what they consider power. Senerio. Who is more powerful? a wizard or a chanter? A wizard deals hit for hit the hardest hits in game. Does this make him/her the most powerful class? A chanter's dps can't compare to a wizard yet I consider them to be a far more powerful class. Being able to hit one mob for a huge amount of damage definatly deisplays power. Being able to instantly decommission 6 yellow group mobs as chanters can is even that much more power imo. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think people are getting to caught up in a hit to hit senerio and not looking at the big picture. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>While I truly enjoyed playing an assasin, my frustration with them is what I call wizarditis. I burn hard and do little else. I found the brigand to satisfy my need to burn hard as well as my need to be a bit more to a group then sheer dps. I think as people begin to understand these classes better there will be a distinct shift in the FOTM syndrome which seemed to hook a lot of people into being assasins. And no I am not saying brigand is better then assasin, it is simply better for me and my play style.</DIV></DIV></DIV> <P><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </P> <P><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </P><p>Message Edited by Azrom on <span class=date_text>12-18-2004</span> <span class=time_text>06:22 AM</span>

Thanks Azrom, that really helped. I do notice that I do a lot of dmg right now at lvl 17. I try and keep my attacks upgraded and I really am impressed with the amount of dmg I do.. my necro at this lvl didn't compare as far as dmg output

<DIV>And that damage will only incease. Just wait til you get ruse in a few levels. My ruse is plopping grays down for well over 1k a hit. Even attacking yellows and harder I consistently do in the 550 to 1k range per ruse.</DIV>
