<DIV>Well the Master 1 version of shank may well be better than the App2 Shiv you might be limited to at 46 for a while, so I would say do it personally. I know level 46 is several months away for me, so I cannot see how you can make that sort of determination based on duration of use like that. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But many folks are racing to 50 rather than having fun, so it may well be better to wait if that fits your play style. This is not EQ and when you get to 50 you have outgrown the content rather than just reached the content since there is not a huge amount of guild raid content that needs max level characters to survive here.</DIV>

<DIV>I am about to pass out here and did not quite make 47 today but I can say for a fact Shiv does FINALLY replace it at lv 46.6 or maybe it was 46.8 I forget at this point.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At (App I) it seems to do slightly lower average initial hit then shank (Adept I) but the dot damage is more per tick at (55 + 111 + 111) btw shank caps and does not increase the dot anymore after a certain Lv. I have already replaced Shank (adept I) with Shiv and it will only get better if I find an adept version of shiv too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for getting master definitely. It is a very useful skill and you have a long while before you can replace it.</DIV>

It is not the initial hit since they seem about the same, but the dot damage is much less and even at 46 it only hits for (31+31+31) where as hidden shiv capped at (40+81+81). Now the new one does add an effect that last a very short time that is supposed to increase damage but I never notice any difference and even if I did, it only last like 10 seconds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am sure it would be better if I found an adept but that has been impossible so far. I have never seen one drop or seen one for sale of even heard of one dropping. And I dont think our server has crafters high enough to make adept III for it yet.</DIV>
