<DIV>Are Hidden Shiv and backstab on the same timer?  I have some guildies that are making app 3 upgrades for me and I really do not want them to waste the materials if I will be replacing my rogue abilities in the near future.</DIV>

<DIV>Yes Hidden Shiv is on the same timer but dont waste money on app III because you can easily find an adept on either FP broker or even more commonly on the Fencer which displays the Qeynos market. This is located on the little island in East Freeport, just look at the map there and it is the only place you need to swim to.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BTW Hidden Shiv kicks the living hell out of backstab. It has a higher initial attack but if that was not good enough, it instantly lands the 1st of 3 ticks of DOT damage and the DOT damage is always the same and goes up as you lv. The 1st hit is always half the damage of the 2nd and 3rd. When you 1st get the skill at and have (adept I) I think I remember my initial hits to be about 130ish avg and the dot was 25-26 + 50s + 50s but I forget the exact amounts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I forgot to look at new dot damage at lv 35 but my max hit was yesterday I had an initial hit of 301 and DOT ticks of 40s + 80s + 80s</DIV> <DIV>You will also get Shank later which works in the same fassion but has a lower initial hit and slightly higher DOT damage and is used from flank rather then behind.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These 2 together with other new skills will make you love you start loving your class from Level 29.6 - 32</DIV>

<DIV>They are on the same timer I gather because shiv completly replaces backstab. Once you have shiv there is zero reason to have backstab on hot key bar unless you want to do a lot less damage or save a sand grain worth of power.</DIV>

<DIV>As a update, late 30s like 37 or 38 is I think when I got it, there is another one I forgot what its called now but it is supposed to replace Hidden Shiv.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It does initial damage at (App II) slightly less then Hidden Shiv and tick damage is all the same for each tick. At App I it was 22 and App II it was 25. It also adds a very short duration buff that is supposed to be a damage boost but I couldn't notice anything significant. For now I still use my (Adept I) Hidden Shiv. Since Hidden Shiv tick damage capped a few levels back and no longer increases then maybe this one will pass it up as I level and also get an Adept of it.</DIV>
