Iam i doing something wrong?

 Hey everyone iam a little confused as of today.I been sailing along lvl 60 now and i usualy am at thetop of my parser by a large margen.Today i happen to be ina group with 2 other swashies a zerker a mystic and a warden. I was highest in the group at lvl 60.Wel lwe start out and to my amazement one of the swashies 4 levels lowerthan me is putting out around 700 dps compared to my 500 or so dps. the othre swashy lvl 51 was some where around 350 dps.Looting at  the high dps'ers stats i had 120 more str than he did and a little better gear. He was using 2 lvl 52 MC rapiers.I was uing sword of the bixies with a decent adornment.No i did not get a chance to ask him if he was mastered out or his AP build.But iam running a mix of masters and adept3's myself my ap build so far iswis 4448? maxed the chance to double hit.Bad memory but i think its agi 4448 the one where i have like 16% chance to hit for a added 600 or so if flanking.having looked over the AP picks this seemed like a good build. I have concentrated on getting str as high as possible got the added melee dgm.So what did i do wrong or difernt that a swashie 4 levels lower than mine with over 100 less str was putting out a constant 200 more dps? He was going so strong that even with his transfer on the tank the zerker ( a guildy that i know is running master tuants) could not keep argo for more than 5s.( other than  the other swashy was not running a ingorant bliss posion).i normaly run with these posions uplvl 52 hate decreaselvl 52 causticlvl 52 warding ebb? the wis debuff one.Have not looked int o the lvl 60 ones yet. Just hit 60 today I have ran with this tank many times and with my M1 transfer going to him as long as i start in early using even wizzies cant  pull argo off him. Yet this swashy does it every pull and still does over 200 dps more than me with him having the argo on him. Just like to know if there is anything other than getting more mastered ( been kind of slack on the last few due to prices) that i could do to reach that kind of dps.Any advice would be most welcome.I fear i have over looked something important<div></div>

First off, with transfer, ignorant bliss and avoid censure you will not get aggro. I suppose you could hit an unlucky string of procs in the middle of an inspiration burst but it is unlikely.  The swash getting aggro at 700dps was doing something off.  Perhaps there were two transfers on the tank, that will mess things up.That said the wis line will give you a 14% bonus over auto attacking with 2 weapons.  This increases a bit when finguring in hurricane AoE damage.  The agi line that gives the proc is probably around this damage wise.  The STR line with the increase to crit chance is the best damage increaser we have for AA points.  Go STR/WIS or STR/AGI if you want max damage.  That isn't going to make up 50% dps increase to catch the other swash, but it will be a start.The rest of it depends on the buffs you guys had and playstyle. Perhaps a group member put a buff on him that wasn't on you.  He could have done a better job timing inspired daring.  Do you make use of both of your temp DPS/Haste buffs? He could have the decreased timer to inspired daring meaning it was up more fights.  He could have had the top tier poison ability that gives him 25% more poison damage.  If you want to know, look through your parse.  Find out how much damage your various abilities did.  That is how I refine my game.  Every time another swash out dpses me I look into it.  They usually don't the next time.<div></div>

The jump from 56 to 60 isn't huge unless the other guy is fighting mobs that he can't hit well and you can because of level. Otherwise you'd expect them to be fairly similar.The aggro problems were your hate transfers overwriting each other and him not using ignorant bliss.STR is nice, blade of the bixies is decent, but neither of them are going to put you in a new DPS category. For that you're really gonna be looking at buffs, alternate advancement, and just playstyle. Was he getting on mobs a couple seconds faster than you? In a short fight that could mean a big DPS difference.<div></div>

 Thanks guys, as far as hate transfer i removed mine as soon as i seen he had his.. not sure if the 51 swashy did or not il lremeber to ask that next time iam ina swashy heavy group.Beging to think itsthe lack of str ap. sadly i forked around way to much on respecs and hit the 10p limit LOL so ill be saving up to change that. iam at 46 ap atm. As far as him jumping in faster  if he did i did not notice it  me andthe tnak are on TS all the time  iam prety wel lset when he pulls ( nice to have a tank you work with ona steady bases)thinking back part of my lack of dps it was hardot stay flanking the mob for the agi flank to proc due to  the mob spinning  to the other swashy. Looking back over the zone parse i jumped about 150 dps when i just started setting up  as if he was the MT so i be behind the mobs when he did take argo. guess i did not notice it b/c by that time i was sort of disgusted with myself LOL. Any other help yall could give would rock ATM sword of the bixie is the best i can find on the broker. if you can recommend bettre and where i could get it plz let me know.  Going to be traveling tomorrow with the holidays and i like to thank yall and wish all a merry christmas!Happy hunting and good luck<div></div>

<DIV>Since you said you're going out of town I'll leave a tid bit of my play style here for you to see.  First off, I always open with my 10s cooldowns, once i use all 3, i use my big damage moves (this is usually where i get aggro, because i cannot afford threat reduction poisons <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) assuming I have aggro at this point, I'll hit him from the front with the frontal attack, then spin him and hit him from the back with my big backstab, then my smalll backstab, by this time he's usually dead, if not, ill drop him back onto the tank and start over again from stealth with my opener.  I cant afford masters unfortunately <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> the only CA i have mastered is my master 2 double attack.  My build is STR/AGI, with maxed Crit, Avast Ye, and Sailwind.  Also as was said before, timing inspiring daring is important as well.  Its hard to run through everything ive learned to max my dps out here, so shoot me a tell as I said above and we can see what we can learn from eachother <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hots Ex</DIV> <DIV>58 Swashbuckler </DIV>

Hey thanks Hots,Finaly got the nerve up to spend the 10 plat on the respec LOL (still boggled over getting to 10p respecs so fast LOL)Stayed with the 1h thing since i realy like the style of it and iam hooked on the double hits. Just some thing swashbuckler like to 1h.Went down the str line to max the crit chance.My normal opening is the any postion  dgm mit debuf usualy follewed with the frontal ( parry debuf?) while iam swing to the back ill  hit the wis /magical debuff that does no dgm. once iam behind ill run down the 3 back ones. Hit what ever else is up atm usualy frontal is back up and ill spin hit it spin to the back again and start over. Use the temp dps bufs when i can.Maybe i realy should pay more attention to the reuse times on them. This just seemed to be a natural way to run the ca's.Have not had a chance to test this in a regular group but 2boxing my warden today  my zone parse at the end was almost 150 DPS higher than before. This is with out being able to get any if just few back hits in. Was done on gazer island while havesting where i had to clear 10 or so blue normals at once. 3 hr harvest/killing (grr on only one rare for my next armor set) and i zoned out at about 720 dps. Me 61 and warden 70. still in my level 52 gear and using a sword of the bixies.Some of that dps may had been over the top due to the aoes haveing a lot of targets to hit and huricane also having a lot of targets to hit. but i think that maybe even out due to my haste usualy being in the - 50 or so gazers have a nasty stacking attack speed debuf. Iam pretty happy with that for now.Next quest is for kos treestarter 1str  4448wis 4448thats 41 points spentany advice as to where to spend those to be honest iam at a little of a loss.Sitting with 4 points unspent till i fingure out what i want to do with them LOLThanks all for the advice and once again thanks Hots for the ingame tell<div></div>

btw to my understanding only one hate transfer from swashies to the tank work at same time... Brattigan I think can confirm since when we group together with our zerker tank, he has the aggro transfer on since he's gone with more the top dps line, when I have more aggro reducers from my aa line so I'm more of a safe bet not to have it on. <div></div>

<P>When a Swash has notably low DPS vs another Swash - assuming both have the same buffs - there's a checklist I go down to make sure (s)he's not missing something basic, so please do not be offended . . . here goes:</P> <P>1. Does he begin every fight in Stealth, you don't? . . . you lose 500 to 1,000 per fight.</P> <P>2. Does he get to the target faster than you? You lose . . . depending. Does he use glide keys to move while you go forward, turn, backup, turn before attacking?</P> <P>3. Does he move to fire his frontal/flanking CA and you don't? You lose 500 to 1k per fight.</P> <P>4. Does he move and keep his alignment correct to max Hurricane and you don't?</P> <P>5. Does he fire his quick-refresh CAs first, and you don't? On average, he'd be using more CAs than you.</P> <P>6. Does he have the Bloodlines self-buff and you don't? You lose . . . depending.</P> <P>7. Do you 1-hand thinking its always better while he DW's a pair of DRs that outdamage your high chance to double-hit?</P> <P>8. Does he use Caustic while you use Hemotoxin? You lose a *lot*. <DIV>You said that you had a Warden in your group. Did the other swashi have the Primitive or Natrual Instinct buff from the warden? That buff gives a nice increase on the piercing/slashing/etc. skills. If the damage differences was in the autoattack damage, that may be the reason too.</DIV>
