Just read this in the "test" update notes.Swashbuckler: Enhance: Inspired Daring: Reduced benefit from 15 to 8 seconds per rank.Thinking about it objectively 15 was probably too much, but think 10 would have been a better end point for the adjustment. Time will tell I guess.Dedit: Made it clear this was in the test update notes, not to live yet.
Message Edited by Drevva on 12-11-2006 03:13 PM

I would have prefered 12 seconds to be honest, to allow a full 1 minute off the three minute rut. Which wouldn't be to bad considering it takes 11 points to max out this aa (6 to move far enough down the chain+ 5 to max the aa)It's still one of our better AA choices though, and I could see why it would get an "adjustment".Though you may want to say these are test update notes rather than live

I'm sorry but the minute I saw that AA on beta I knew this was bound to happen. Our AAs still don't suck. I have toons with much worse AA trees. And please for the love of god don't cry out like that. Take it like a Swashbuckler! /slaps Leithe Snap out of it!Inspiration is nice damage, but IMO some people have put too much importance on it when I hear talk of not casting debuffs because they have small damage and will reduce Inspiration DPS. /shakesheadSuperior STR, Debuffs and Melee skills > ALL.

In all honesty, I saw this change coming. I can't complain though, at least we are getting time off our recast for Inspired Daring in the first place.

So enjoy the 75second reduction while it lasts!

shaggir take your head out of your [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] and [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] and moan it is a class defining ability and this change seriously makes you have to reevaluate the aa trees, the debuff line blows, you see no bonus from uncanny, and teh otehr aas are kinda meh

Class defining ability? Come on. Class defining for those who see us as pure DPS maybe. True it's too bad they had to nerf it, but it's not like all other AA are useless. In fact we have so many nice routes to choose from it took me quite a while to figure out what I want. Just because DPS is the only thing you can parse doesn't mean that there is no life beyond DPS :smileywink:

Ummm whoever said they saw this in beta and thought it was overpowered or whatever... This AA skill wasnt in beta in this form. The beta version reduced the detrimental effect (the taunt) by a % with each lvl of the skill. And it stayed that way til the final days of beta. This incarnation was only ever on live. THough, on topic, as much as im disappointed by this I am not surprised. I also would liek a less drastic cut but oh well. Guess we wil see.

Well this sucks. I would have liked 12 alot better, I'm a fan of even numbers.

Oh well, at least now it will be on the same timer reduction as En Garde. :smileysad:

This change was in beta on 11/7. If you don't believe me look here

AegisCrown wrote:shaggir take your head out of your [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] and [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] and moan it is a class defining ability and this change seriously makes you have to reevaluate the aa trees, the debuff line blows, you see no bonus from uncanny, and teh otehr aas are kinda meh

You have proof that the Quick Flurry AA is broken? If so bug it. It *appeared* to show a benefit to me, but I haven't gone through the trouble of proving it. 10% increase chance in resistability of all spells is highly desirable to me. The whole focus of this revamp is that they are trying to remove some of the BS abilities they had to put on mobs to make them challenging and use more traditional skills that can be buffed and debuffed. I may be biased towards debuffing, but I also play a Mystic and a Dirge and I'm very familiar with the change in damage output of a poorly debuffed mob vs a heavily debuffed mob. If you are focused on your position in the DPS chart, then yes the debuff line is probably not worth the agility reduction. Don't presume I'm ignorant because I don't agree with you.Simple question, is your class viable and able to perform well? I get very tired of people doing the stolen lolipop routine when some poorly thought out ability was put into the game and removed. Sure it sucks and its avoidable, but this is not something new... don't act surprised. And I'll agree with you on one thing said in the past here Leithe:

Cocytus wrote:I've never whined about brigands myself, but the amount of whining from brigands on beta is just disgusting.

I guess I thought the Swashbucklers had thicker skin than this.
imho, -40 seconds is still worth the investment even for a non-style speced swashy.

Sigh the cat is out of the bag... Someone said swashies own didnt they? Then Sony said... "What a class is good... Nerf time!" but yeah this was bound to happen, I would still like to see it 12 seconds instead. Inspiration was the only "good" thing i was looking forward to in the new AA lines, Some classes got great new abilities while others got crap, we were in the mix before this happend now id say we got crap... Granted we have 1 - 2 "decent" things, nothing compares to some of the other abilities... IE: Manaburn for wizzies...

Yeah I kind of suspected this AA was too good to last. Still made me cry like a little ratongan girl when I saw it on the notes. While it matches the other time reducers now I wish they found some middle ground between the two.

A nerf to 12 seconds would be much more reasonable, but who is SOE to be reasonable?
