Hola. There seems to be a bit too many topics from new players around these boards, so I'm sorry for cluttering it even more with this post <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.I do have some former experience from MMO's (5 years of playing), so I know how to get around pretty much, but, I do have some questions.I'm playing a Fae Swashy, started today (level 12), and I've choosed to go down the STRline, then I think it's WIS, since I really fancy the idea of playing around with no offhand (I'm no dual-wield lover you see), also the image of a Swashbuckler with a single Rapier is just too hot.My question is: I'm going to play solo 70% of the time, 25% of the time duo and 5% of the time grouped, and I'm wondering if there's any good way for me to reflect that in my AA choices. I play this game mainly for PvE, but I'm also a huge fan of PvPing, so I don't really want to get gimped in that part of the game. So I pretty much wonder what would be the best allaround (but solo, and solopvp focused) AA build for a Fae.I LOVE to mash buttons, and at level 12 now I'm constantly mashing tons of skills (trying to make the best possible pattern), I get very easily bored just autoattacking/using same spell over and over again.<div></div>Swashys just seem to have so much utility, something I also love.

Honestly if you're going to solo the AGI or STA lines might be better, especially considering the duo component. That doesn't mean you "have" to take those roles, just they have some neat advantages that cater more towards a solo player. Plenty of swashies solo on a STR/WIS build as well so its not the end of the world. The STR line does incur added defense stats which helps a solo'er.Unless you're on a PvP server, don't worry about PvP at all, you really don't need to build for it on a PvE server. On a PvP server, PvP is all you better think about, enjoying PvE is very tough to do there, survival first, content somewhere near the bottom <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

Thanks for the reply.I can see myself using a Buckler, but I'm not a fan of the AGI AA line, since I dont like dual wielding nor the situitional attacks :o (I love my Viscerate right now though <3)<div></div>
Well you don't have to dual weild for AGI. I am going AGI/WIS. You may like it, especially since you like the whole swashie/rapier thing. STR is for swords, and rapiers are considered a different weapon class. AGI is for rapiers. Therefore, if you use a rapier and go down str line, you won't find much that you'll like. Also you say you don't like situational attacks. Sorry, but a good amount of swashie damage comes from the rear and side attacks. The AGI line has an ability that spins the target around and makes roots them long enough for you to get your important situational attacks off, so that may make it a bit simpler.<div></div>
Well, a swashy at L70 has three side/rear attacks - Lung Puncture (damage and casting/attack skill debuff), Guile (damage and physical mitigation debuff) and Plunder (damage and agi debuff), compared to six for a brigand, so a swashie isn't so dependent on positional attacks. That said, getting those three off will increase your soloing prowess. You can redo your AA choices, for cash (very cheap first time, but 13pp after a few goes!). So you can go one path early, and change later. Though I started as a swash and went to brigand, I would suggest you consider starting with STR-STA, then later on respeccing to a more dps AA set if you find yourself grouping/raiding at Tier 7 levels, with STR-WIS a popular dps choice if you can get a good 1h weapon. STA line with the final ability makes you a pretty workable tank for a duo combination, though I'd say it helps a brig more than a swashie (swashies have extra hate gain/transfer tools to keep aggro and an extra AoE attack). I went 1-4-4-4-4-8 STA before then filling up STR. Swash is a really fun and flexible class, you should enoy it a lot whatever AA path you take.
