<DIV>OK..70 swashy here, almost all fabled/legendary thanks for my guild's good luck raiding.  Use Grandmaster poisons whenever possible when raiding.  I think I am pretty good at playing my swashy as well (although I know there is room for improvement)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My question is..how do some of you get the enormous DPS numbers?  I think I have broken 1000 2-3 times, most of the time I am in the 500-700 range.  Maybe I am spamming my CA's too much?  Are the other members of my group a bigger part of my DPS than I realize?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know these may be questions I should have more knowledge about , but I thank all of you in advance for your help.</DIV>

All vitail questions but atleast one of these things must be wrong parsing that low.</DIV>

<DIV>Ok Speedsta,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>DW Grinning Dirk of Horror/Adamantine Dragonfang</DIV> <DIV>STR/AGI AA lines both complete</DIV> <DIV>Usually my STR is above 600..sometimes above 700</DIV> <DIV>Poisons: Grandmaster Vitality Breach, Essence of Turgur, and Cerebral Ebb  I think</DIV> <DIV>I use all 3 of my instant buffs when up, usually at the same time when I can. All 3 are at master level. (Perfect Finesse, En Garde, and Inspiration) Spurous Bravado is always set to proc when it can, Hurricane is up always,  I forgot all about Ruthless Cunning..I guess that would help too :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance..I would like to give more "punch" to my raids and groups</DIV>

Alright i spec 1 handed because it is the best dps spec and i know that is how almost everyone parses high.... i go 4/4/4/8 down wis for the dubble attack then 4/4/5/8/8 down str For crits and swipe and my extra free point in defence for pvp, also vit breach is kinda suck id sugest grandmasters Castic poison because its a derect dd then i throw in a ignorant bliss to dec my hate so i can go all out or almost all out, and then follow it up with a decress all defencavie atribute debuff poison. Remember to time all your big hitters with dispatch and i like to use all my insta buffs together for max procs the 1hand thing will for sure help your dps tho i sugest a shadow axe or right hand of the high preist, unless your in a guild who can kill cheldrak then pic  up the shard from him..... i hope this helps you if you have any questions just feel free to ask.

<DIV>Speedsta,</DIV> <DIV>Thanks for the info.  I like DW, and I know I take a hit on DPS because of that.  Maybe one day I will respec my AA's when I find one of those good 1H weapons. I will try the Caustic Poison next time as well.  I think I will also learn what other classes help me and try to "influence" the raid leader next time as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div>Well considering you have a GDH, which is probably the best dual wield in the game, I'd stick with that, I'm somewhat interested in the numbers you could do.  But anyway this is what you need to put up awesome numbers.- 100/100 all the time, no questions asked- GM caustic, plus whatever procs you can get from others- a brigand debuffing for your raid- high raid dps, if your raid is low dps, your dps is going to be effected and thus lower- you need to use inspiration EVERY TIME it comes up, and not 'save' itedit: and from your profile I don't see a haste item, well get one even if its FBSS<div></div><p>Message Edited by Keldoth on <span class=date_text>09-20-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:59 PM</span>

If my high damage CAs are up I keep my frostwrath equipped and hit those CAs. If my high damage CAs are down I swap to a velium spear for the lower delay and thus more inspiration damage. I only wish I could get a RHotHP for this.As for En Garde.  I used to use this with inspiration, but I no longer do.  I found that it doesn't proc very often on most raid fights when I am behind the mob.  I hit most of the time and when I miss, I just miss.  I don't get parried, riposted, etc...  So I use inspiration at the mobs back because it gives me the most damage.  When I burn En Garde I flank the mob (be carefeul about ripostes <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ).  This means the mob will parry me and I proc En Garde.  En Garde is another attack that will benefit fom a faster weapon. The more you are parried the more damage you will do.  I would say for both inspiration and En garde swap in Turandimin's Fang (spelling is off I know) in your main hand and have the dirk in offhand.  That 1.0sec delay down to 0.5sec when fully hasted will be huge.  Oh, and En Garde is also extremely useful on the parry stances of the priest of thule and on Tarinax where you will get parried a lot because he is level 75.I also tend to pair perfect finese with inspiration (36s and 12s) and rutheless cunning with en garde (1min with 36s).  You can cast your temp buffs as you run in and then hit the damage buffs after your first attack.  All of these are just things that have helped me do more damage.  I am usually only behind the assassin, ranger, and a couple of casters on the parses (assassin and casters are in witha bard and fury and rangers are incredibly self sufficient).</div>

Is the parser showing ExtDps or Dps (Assuming it's an ACT parser)? ExtDps numbers can be quite different from actual dps numbers as they average your damage based on the entire length of the encounter.

Also look at your crit%.- get a dirge in your group- get the MoA neck- get the crit% buff potion...<div></div>

<DIV>I agree with some, if not all (did not read all), replies of the posters here.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The majority of your dps will come from the group setup that you find yourself in on a raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am usually in the DPS group with a dirge, a healer, and couple of necro's warlocks.</DIV> <DIV>My DPS in that group bites - if i go all out i can at times break 1000dps, however most often without using speed and dps buffs I will parse in the neighborhood of 500dps on solo encounters and 700-800dps on multi-mob encounters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was on an open raid yesterday for Harla Dar and was in the Offtank group with a, Zerker, Paladin, Bruiser, 2 healers, and me to give offtank agro boost.</DIV> <DIV>I topped out at 1050DPS with NO use of "Inspiration" or "Perfect Finesse" for speed or dps buffs. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The mobs did not live long enough for me to actually go all out on them. I think i could have easily passed 1400-1700 DPS had we taken on a mob with more HP's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway hope that helps. I will ask our raid leader to put me into the main or offtank group next time - even i provide no other buffs than agro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Take care - Canute/Unrest</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PS: </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would be interested to hear from other Raid-Swashy's on what the ideal dps group would be. What is good, what is bad...etc.</DIV> <P>Also I cannot find where/who/what drops the Grinning Dirk of Horror. Can someone tell me please? <P><SPAN class=time_text>Thanks </SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by StGeorg on <span class=date_text>09-25-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:17 PM</span>

<DIV>I average 1000-1100 DPS on my guild raids - i'm using Ancient Velium Shortsword, Archaic roundshield, mainly claymore/nizara/bought legendary. AND 23 masters including hurricane, spurious bravado, etc. My AA setup is str 4/5/8/8 sta 4/4/8/8. Would I really get much higher than 1100 if i respec'd to wisdom?? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S.CA order really matters imho - the right combo of keys means the difference between 750 and 1000 DPS with my setup!! The way i drive myself on is to try and get top DPS spot - i find being competitive keeps my numbers high - don't think i can get 1200+ without better equipment or a repec though!</DIV>
