Well i debated it for a while...my swashy is now in his early 60's, and i've paired him up with my SK and two box him. i figured the extra bonuses both ways might help, so i took my first respec with that character.I've not really noticed any differece, in ofencive stance with his slashing at 384, he still misses more often than he hits against an orange con solo mob. yet 384 as far as comapred to level should mean he can hit a level 78/79 mob.from what i've seen i really doubt this ability is worth 8 points, obviously i've not done a great deal of testing, so i want some opinions from anyone thats treid it.obviously he is an alt, its unlikely he will ever go raiding unless i suffer a pickup MoA raid... so for his AAs i was considering maxing out the double attack from wis, then splitting between str and agi for walk the plank and crits.

<DIV>I have coule and parse pretty [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] good accuracy versus orange mobs. ACT has ability to parse hit %, so you can use that to see. Coule should translate roughly into 4-5% more to-hit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, can't really efficiently split between str and agi AND wisdom. Pick either STR/WIS or AGI/WIS.. otherwise your wasting a lot of points on stat boosts.</DIV>

Coule basically maximizes your ability to evade hits, take hits without dying, put out more DPS with skills that trigger off of evasion, and ability to hit without missing in general. It has been *really* useful for me.

<DIV>Coule is usefull if ye need to be in defensive stance for one or another reason, besides that, its so close to useless its sad imo. I got Coule thinking itd help keep debuffs stick on orange mobs, kept it all the way to last week when I decided I had enough of it, and respecced to swipe. I guess it can be usefull for some situations, but the point investment vs the return wasnt worth it for me after parsing whole zones and compairing me and other guild swashie with exactly same AA's except he didnt have coule, he'd even have better hit vs miss then me at times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I really am skeptical that 'to hit' for CA is rolled off any of your skills. Using my defense, parry etc lower and attacking from the front really doesn't change the chance to land vs an orange, but the moment dispatch is up, everything lands just fine, implying that mitigation figures into hit miss, which doesn't make a lot of sense considering all the (de)buffs we get that effect skills.<div></div>

<DIV>Coule can help your dps a bit but as a raid swipe helps a ton more plus i wouldnt drop my crit or swipe for coule.</DIV>

Coule doesn't contribute much to raiding, since your offensive stance and group buffs will pretty much put you at cap. It contributes greatly to soloing, tanking and PvP however.

<P>So if my guild already have 2 brigands on Swipe duty all the time and Coule is next to useless, should I dump the 8 points into Torporous Strike and Lunge Reversal instead to max out DPS?</P> <P>Cheers.</P>

<DIV>Absolute highest DPS with no regard for defense would probably be (assuming your weapon skill capped in raids):</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>STR: 4/8/4/8</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>WIS: 4/8/5/8</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or AGI variation to try with a Rapier, though if you get lots of buffs, going into STR crits is probably better:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>AGI: 4/4/4/8/8</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>WIS: 4/5/4/8</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since Sailwind will net you a few points of DPS here and there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Top Dual-wield would probably be:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>STR: 4/4/4/8</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>AGI: 4/4/4/8/8 </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With 1 point into either Torporous Strike or Walk the Plank.. I forgot which one gives more damage. </DIV> <P>Message Edited by Rokjin on <SPAN class=date_text>09-19-2006</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>07:45 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Rokjin on <span class=date_text>09-19-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:45 AM</span>

<P>Oh I'm fully aware it's a hit to my raid usefulness, but I am a lover of PVP, and my main reasons for taking coule were for pvp pwnage and being a really good tank when I duo.</P> <P>Mind you, I *do* raid 2-3x a week, but I just accept the fact it's not as useful as it could be...just like how I took walk the plank instead of capping my crit rate. I do a bit more dps tanking and it helps a lot in dueling.</P>
