Been grouping lately with Zerker AoE, Swashie AoE (me!!) and Fury - seems rock solid even in some of the KoS instances.I suppose it has the obvious "minimum ingredients" of tank, healer, dps.

With at least 5 diffrent means of agro control, swashbucklers are the gods of NOT tanking. If you're doing the small group thing, I suggest you forego the healer, forget the defensive stance, and focus on killing everything before it gets a chance to damage anyone. Swashy/Conjuror/Monk make a great team. Have the monk and conj put all their buffs on you for a huge increase in swashy dps, then stick your hate transfer on the magepet and let it tank for the few seconds that your targets will be alive before you totally obliterate them. Also forget about those utility classes like warden and dirge. Sure they can help out, but they are really optimized for full groups and they are only at a fraction of their maximum effectiveness in a small group. For duo's and trio's you definately want to get a real tank/priest/healer, like a berserker/guardian inquisiter/templar and a summoner or a wizard. You will find that these classes are just as effective in small groups as they are in large, and they can do all the things a full group can do just a little slower.

With very few exceptions I take down everything up to yellow heroic named without any real issues at all (sides the normal spike damage of avoidance tanking) and having both group invis and group FD makes even the few exceptions go debtfree most times. I just cant help thinking of what this combination could accomplish if they all got a players full attention as Im far from using any of them to their full potantial right now, if anyone have any 'real' experience of similar mix, Id love to hear *grins* Not an icky rusty plate in sight, but still smashing mobs flat happily

(Oh, gotta love swashie hate control... my swash is raiding equipped with everythin adept3/m1 and she does the vast majority of damage with hurricane on, monk is in all treasured with app4/adept1/m2 with the sad AE taunt of that class, toss on hate transfer and swashie never pulls aggro... My warden pulls aggro more often when dpsing whilst I duo her with monk *boggles*)

Well even if they nerfed that, swashy can avoid getting agro easily using the other tools at our disposal.

It is basically the only ability we put on others and it would be nice for it to be more raid friendly. Just an aside from the thread.Back on topic. The tank I group with nearly all the time is a monk and it is indeed a great combo. She never has aggro issues when I am there adn can save taunts for adds. When i am not around she needs to taunt all the time and still looses some when a dps class goes all out. Although one day we were with an annoying brigand who would pull aggro every fight. I was out DPSing him with my tranfer on and he still pulled aggro..my guess is that he was taunting to be annoying. Back to topic again... So the monk and I used to group a lot with a warden and we could do pretty much everything we wanted up to yellow heroics. More recently though we have found the fury to be a better compliment because of the aditional DPS from her spells and the bloodlust buff on me. Before the stun nerfs I bet bruiser, brigand, fury was a really awesome trio.

Not quite a trio .. but a quatro run by a duo

Me - Swashy / Warden (duo, boxed)

Friend - Pally / Wizard (duo, boxed)

We can basically go against anything up to Yellow Named. Pally pulls hate off Wizard, Swash transfers hate to Pally .. Pally rarely ever loses agro. Warden heals are easy to keep up except for some heavy spike damage, in which case the pally can LoH or other heal. AE is a breeze with the Wiz/Swash. Named aren't bad at all given the Swash debuffs. If we can keep enough power, we have done a bunch of epic x2 that were green with this group .. as long as we are maybe +7 levlels or so dependent on the type of mob.

Additional benefits .. this group has 3 evacs, so we can chain evac across zones which is nice. Since swash doesn't have to be behind all the time and has many arts that work from any position, I don't have to move as much or be useless when things start hitting the fan and I have to move over to primarily play my warden.

And ofcourse Swashy Group Invis makes everything easy.

They will often pull agro to use the CA, then dump back to the tank. :smileywink:

A quick explanation like you gave would have made me happy. Now I know.
