<DIV>I was trying to find it in the old combat revamp notes but couldnt. I notice when I equip my shiled my avoidance goes up about 10% but my mitigation does not, does the shiled mitigate frontal damage only for that additional amount?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance!</DIV>

Sheilds do not mitigate damage- the protection factor is a way of comparing the blocking efficiency of two sheilds. I don't know if this is frontal arc only (though I would expect no better than frontal and flanking arc protection, and problaby less than that), but all the shield does is give you an extra way to avoid damage in addition to dodge and parry.<div></div>
there are a few shields in the 60+ range that have + to slashing, crushing or piercing, these numbers will add to your mitigation. I'm not sure if any of the shield below tier 7 have these pluses.<div></div>
